More photos from our wonderful time at Flute Summer Camp with Mark Camden. This day started out with a workshop on Practicing and internalizing the motions needed to play proficiently and confidently. We then proceeded to explore writing backing tracks for Native Flute and played around with AI applications and writing songs. OMG!! It is truly insane what it can do. We even wrote an AI song about Flute Camp!!

That evening we took all the accumulated knowledge and put it all out on the stage of our impromptu Open Mic. Wow, the students did an absolutely amazing job. I’m not sure what happened but the transformation between one day and the next was dramatic. I’ve never heard some of them play as well as they did!! Very proud of what I heard coming from those flutes.

We have completed our first day of Summer Flute Camp with Mark Camden. What an amazing day!! It started with a workshop detailing everyone’s flute journeys and their future plans with the flute. It was great to hear everyone’s stories and goals for the future. We then progressed into another workshop after a great lunch from our favorite “Lunch Lady”, Phyllis. If you’ve never experienced the food here at Camp Pecometh you don’t know what you are missing.

After our 2nd workshop working with and hearing rhythms and playing with them some folks went kayaking and others hung out and played more music until our fabulous dinner.

After dinner we were treated to an amazing concert by our “Artist in Residence”, Mark Camden. Then it was on to crazy card games and a wild jam session with Dan, Leta and Kathy!! Sorry if you are missing all the fun!!

We are just winding down now and sleep is desperately needed before we’re back at it again tomorrow.
