Interesting read about the drought we are experiencing - EVEN WITH THIS CURRENT RAIN 🥲

If you have landscape trees that you value, consider getting them on a deep watering schedule. Trees or shrubs planted within the last 5 years absolutely need extra care.

A method for watering larger shrubs and trees: For 30-60 minutes, allow a slow drip from your hose, place the hose under the canopy but not against the trunk (the feeder roots span a large area). Move the hose every 15 minutes or so.

A healthy tree can ward off disease and insect damage. If you look up, you'll see dead branches/canopy, especially on our oak trees. There are a lot of unhealthy trees in the neighborhood.

Rain on Friday won't be nearly enough to help the state recover.
