On Wednesday, September 16, Honor Flight Upstate will return to GSP with Veterans from WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. The community is invited to gather in Baggage Claim Area A at approximately 8:25 p.m. to give them a welcome home filled with the gratitude and recognition they deserve.

📌How did The Wall that Heals come to Rutherford County?

🇺🇲The vision to bring The Wall That Heals to Rutherford County was first shared with the Rutherford County Veterans Committee, a committee formed through the Rutherford County Chamber of Commerce. The committee embraced the idea, and as planning progressed, many of its members stepped into leadership roles helping form The Wall That Heals Rutherford County, NC Committee to help bring this national traveling memorial to our community.

🦅It is a profound honor that Rutherford County, North Carolina was one of only 31 communities nationwide selected to host The Wall That Heals. We are especially honored to serve as the only North Carolina stop and the final stop of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund 's 2026 national tour this November during Veterans Week.

🤝What began as a shared vision has grown into a true community-wide effort involving volunteers, businesses, civic organizations, veterans, schools, churches, and countless supporters working towards one common goal: to bring healing home.

❤️Because every life mattered. Every name tells a story. Every story deserves to be remembered.

While today might be the "official" National Women Veterans Recognition Day, we want our active duty and veteran service women to know we appreciate them EVERY DAY! 👏

This day is recognized because on June 12, 1948, the Women's Armed Services Integration Act was signed into law, granting women the right to serve as permanent members of the U.S. Armed Forces. 🇺🇸

We are grateful for all of the women who have served over the generations to protect and keep us safe. Thank you!

🏇We had an AMAZING Derby Day benefiting Guiding Reins this past weekend! Thank you to our amazing hosts at Bright's Creek, as well as all of the incredible Silent Auction donors and participants.

The funds we raised through this event will go directly to providing mental health wellness programs to our veterans, military, first responders and their families, at no cost to them.

Thank ou to all who support our mission!
