ReelCamo girls are strong, capable, kind, compassionate, nature & country-loving individuals. We care about the land and wildlife management and about long term sustainability. We hunt, fish, dive, shoot and hike…for peace of mind, happiness, pure clean protein & connection to the outdoors. ReelCamoGirls can shoot a gun, draw a bow, track an animal, get CAMOed up, bait a hook, clean a fish and still be feminine. ReelCamoGirl is a lifestyle brand focused on women and girls who love to hunt, fish, hike, shoot, dive, etc. RCG offers a (safe) place, through website and social media where people can share their pictures, stories, recipes, etc. We share hunting related news and hot topics from around the industry to keep you up to date! Currently we are working on our educational library. So we can educate and mentor girls/women who are interested in getting started hunting, fishing, or other outdoor activities. Who else here makes their own cheese? We make Colby, Goddard, Cheddar, Feta, Halloumi and cream cheese. We do not like all the other funny cheeses.

The whitetail rut is around the corner!

Two young bucks go at it while the big boy keeps right on eating like he's seen it all before.

Thanks to our RCG team member Janet Stephenson Griffin for the video.

The end of August and beginning of September is a busy time of year for me. I spent quite a bit of time harvesting my garden. I got a very good haul of potatoes and carrots this year. I feel it's from adding compost and manure to my carrot patch, and I didn't add as much potatoe fertilizer to my potatoes. I feel that the potatoe fertilizer you buy makes them grow bigger tops, and not put energy into growing actual potatoes, just my experience. I need to bring in all my veggies, clear out the greenhouse, clean up the garden beds, dump the flower pots, and store everything away before I can think about hunting. I always feel rushed to get it all done! By this time of year, I've had enough of gardening. I like it, but it's not my favorite activity. I'd rather be hunting or fishing!

What’s something you’ve always wanted to learn, but found a little intimidating or out of reach?

For me, it was fly fishing.

My grandfather was a well-known “fly guy.” I grew up watching him painstakingly restore old Payne rods and tie flies at his basement bench. Somehow, we never got the chance to fly fish together.

My health wasn’t great earlier this year, and when I finally started feeling better, I was incredibly grateful to get back to doing the things I love. Somewhere along the way, landing a fish on a fly became a bucket list item.

So, earlier this year, I decided to give fly fishing a try.

A big thank you to Christian Grabowski of NY GUIDE SERVICE for the professional guidance and pointers on the Salmon River. With a little instruction, I managed to land not one, but THREE beautiful kings!

Turns out I love fly fishing even more than I expected. To say I feel blessed is an understatement. I might have even cried a little… over a fish.

My grandfather would have loved this.

Today we're thinking about all our friends in the south! Isaias packed a punch in the panhandle and is continuing it's march across the southern states! We hope you all are weathering the storm safely! From Florida, to Tennessee, the Carolinas and beyond! Stay safe out there!

The Harlequin Duck - One of the most beautiful species of ducks and Ashley was lucky enough to bag her very own! What's the coolest waterfowl you've hunted and where? 🦆

Now that bow season is upon us, do you prefer to wear face paint or a face cover like a mask or gaiter?

I prefer to wear a face gaiter. I use a lightweight one for early bow season and a heavier one for late season when it's cold. I also wear a white camo gaiter for snowy bow hunting days.
