Lifelines is the outdoor and experiential network of Cru. Our main audience is college students, though we also take high school students and faculty on trips.

With more than 20 years of experience, Lifelines has a rapidly growing team of more than 25 full-time guides, a proven outdoor curriculum and locations in four different areas of the US. Lifelines is part of the interdenominational Christian ministry called Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ), which has a presence on more than 1,100 campuses in the United States. Our purpose is to help people

grow in relationship with God, in relationships with each other, in character and in leadership. The outdoors has historically been an effective venue to connect with people and with our increasingly media-saturated culture it can be even more transformational. Now we resource Cru with the vision of seeing outdoor experiential learning change lives throughout our organization. Our method is experiential learning and many of our concepts can be adapted for any venue indoors or out. Yet typically with Lifelines the outdoors is our passion and our classroom. In short, we take people on adventures like rock climbing, snowshoeing or whitewater rafting—not just for adventure sake, but also to help challenge how they think about themselves, others and God. Our programs encourage participants to take physical, emotional and relational risks, placing them in a position to grow. We believe that all people have the same needs: physical, emotional and spiritual. This provides common ground for us to reach out to all types of students and faculty. It is our goal for people to experience the grace and truth of the Gospel as they connect with each other and God. This is the national page for Lifelines. We also have pages for:

Come join us this summer for the incredible opportunity of being a part of the Alaska summer mission! You’ll have a chance to dive into the beauty of Alaska with help from our Lifelines staff, who are experienced outdoor guides. Learn how to share your faith on the local campus and beyond. Go on a backpacking trip (no experience needed!), learn about life and faith as you hike, fish and grow spiritually as you learn through these outdoor activities. You’ll see the midnight sun, catch a salmon, see a moose and be stretched in ways that will leave you longing for more.

Taking others into the wild is both a joy and a serious responsibility. As outdoor leaders, we must be committed to being will to help those in need and having the necessary skills needed to do so effectively. Have you been keeping your guiding and wilderness medicine skills sharp? This year consider attending the Lifelines Backcountry Guide School as well as a Wilderness First Aid or Wilderness First Responder. Let's keep folks safe while we point them to their Creator.

We have a Creator who didn’t leave us in our sin, brokenness and shame but came for us. He lived among the people he created, he felt, he saw, he witnessed, he performed miracles, he healed and he was hung on a cross to die. By his death, we were set free. By his death we can trade our sin for his beauty and holiness. He died on the cross once for all, defeating death.

It changed everything…One day he is coming back and we will get to be with him in a new heavens and new earth! What an insane miracle, what a redemptive story that we are woven into! All praise to God our Father who sees us, hears us and is in the business of conquering sin and death!

Lamentations 3:22-23

As you think and meditate on the ways the Lord has been faithful in your own life, in what ways can you turn that into worship today? Or maybe you need a reminder of his faithfulness in your life.

Stop. Breathe in. Breathe out. Re-read the verse from Lamentations.

Our God is always faithful, sometimes we just need to remind our soul and mind of this.

What do you need to bring before the throne of God today? Through prayer, as a petition and with thanksgiving. God cares about your heart, so bring it to him and lay it before him. So he can remind you who you are and even more importantly so he can remind you who He is.
