San Diego friends, we have a large treasure trove of CD’s in need of a new home. Probably about 300 ranging from Louis and Sir Duke to local favorites High Society and SDJF mainstays Grand Dominion. Looking to offload all at once and they would need to be picked up (Allied Gardens area). Post in comments or PM, if interested. Thanks!

To the members, volunteers, patrons and musicians of the SD Jazz Fest, we would like to thank you for your 40+ years of support. Like many before us, AFCDJS has struggled in the past several years to continue providing Jazz in San Diego. The diminishing attendance and effects of the pandemic, along with staggering cost changes, have proven too much a burden to justify producing events (including January’s Adult Jazz Camp). As an organization we will continue to promote local music events via social media to support Jazz in our schools and throughout the community.

Today we pause to remember the life of Mary Solsbak, who passed peacefully over the weekend, surrounded by family. Mary was a member of our Board of Directors, and its president for many years. With husband Bob, she took over the hiring and scheduling of volunteers in the early years of the Festival, and ran it successfully for 20+ years. She was a friend to many in the Society, and a big part of the organization's success for many years. Mary was a lover of music and the arts, a longtime contributor and editor of the Jazz Rambler and a fierce advocate for music in the schools. She is survived by her son and three daughters, and will be remembered for her keen intellect, generosity and warm heart. RIP.
