Rescue pup Gumbo is all finished at the vet and is now safe and sound with his foster dad! 🐶

Gumbo is approximately 3 years old and currently weighs 46 lbs, though his ideal weight is around 55–60 lbs. He’s received his heartworm, flea, and tick prevention, is already neutered, and is up to date on all his vaccines! 💛

Now it’s time for this sweet boy to decompress, enjoy all the belly rubs, get some good meals in, and gain some healthy weight while he waits for his forever family.

UPDATE: We’ve officially rescued Gumbo! 🐶💛
Meet Gumbo, a sweet 3-year-old Plott Hound mix who found himself in the shelter and is now getting a second chance at life! 💛

This gentle boy is so sweet and ready to share all the love he has to give. He is quite underweight, and over the next few weeks we’ll be making sure he puts some weight on.

This sweet hound boy is joining our rescue tomorrow from the shelter and we are in need of treats🐾❤️‍🩹

Meet Gumbo, 3 year old male. Gumbo is like most sweet and gentle hounds that enter the shelter. Either lost because his hound nose took him somewhere, or discarded because he doesn’t want to hunt.

We focus on rescuing cats and dogs from euthanasia lists and rural shelters. As a rescue we rely entirely on donations. If you’d like to donate some toys or treats for Gumbo, we’d be so appreciative and so would he. We’ve included our website below where you can donate food, toys, or make a donation for to our rescue. Our Amazon and chewy wishlist have our address built in.

Thank you for your support. We will continue to share updates on Gumbo🤎

Our Christmas fundraiser is back🐾

Around this time of year for the past two years, we’ve come together to support our rescue babies through our Christmas fundraiser. This year feels a little different. It will be our first Christmas fundraiser in two years without our sweet Sunny❤️‍🩹 He will always hold such a special place in our hearts, and we know he would want us to keep helping the animals who need us.

Right now we have many kitties depending on us for care, and later this week, we’ll also be welcoming a sweet hound pup into our rescue🐾

Your donations help us provide the things the animals need most — veterinary care, spay/neuter, food, toys, and everything in between. They also allow us to help families in our community who have fallen on hard times by providing pet food when they need a little extra support.

If you’d like to make a donation and help us continue caring for these sweet rescue babies, we would be incredibly grateful. Every donation, no matter the amount, truly makes a difference. 💛

Thank you for continuing to support our rescue
All donations are tax deductible.

Sweet Rodrick has OFFICIALLY been adopted!💛

We couldn’t be happier for him and his wonderful family! Rodrick joined our rescue in May, after we pulled him from one of our partner shelters, CCAS. His intake photo was a photo of him getting belly rubs, and we knew we had to pull him😅

He came in the shelter by himself as just a tiny little kitten, but my did he have a LOT to say (and he still does)! He keeps everyone he meets entertained.

His family absolutely adores him. They were extremely patient with us while we worked with our vets to get him healthy.

We want to give a massive thank you to Colleton County Animal Services for all that they do for the cats and dogs. And of course a thank you to Rodrick’s adopters, for loving him endlessly💛

Poor rescue kitty Skipper hasn’t had anyone interested in giving him a forever home yet❤️‍🩹

Skipper is a sweet 5-month-old kitten who is looking for his forever family. He’s playful, snuggly, and loves being around his people. He’s a super friendly, social boy who also gets along well with other cats!

Skipper loves seeking out his humans for pets, gentle head rubs, and lots of cuddles.

He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative. He is also available through the rescue’s foster-to-adopt program, with all supplies provided, so you can make sure he’s the perfect fit for your family before his adoption is finalized.

If you think Skipper could be your boy, please send our rescue a message about adoption! 💛

📢 PSA! A little reminder about our adoption apps.

We’ve received quite a few applications for our available kittens, especially Lilac, and we wanted to bring up something important.

We truly appreciate everyone being honest when completing our application, but please do not submit an application if your plan is to declaw the cat or keep them as an outdoor-only or indoor/outdoor pet. Yes, declawing is specifically addressed on our application.

Our rescue does not adopt cats into homes where they will be kept outdoors only or allowed to be indoor/outdoor, and we do NOT approve adoptions with plans to declaw.

We also encourage everyone to take a little time to research these topics before applying. Declawing is an amputation procedure, not simply a nail trim, and allowing cats to roam outdoors puts them at significant risk while also impacting local wildlife and ecosystems. Outdoor cats can face injury or death from cars, other animals, and people, as well as exposure to disease and other dangers.

So, please save yourself and our volunteers the time and do not apply for our cats/kittens if your intention is to keep them outdoors/indoor-outdoor or have them declawed.

Sincerely,
A tired rescue volunteer who really does read every application.

Where is my forever family?

Hi, I’m Skipper, and I’m looking for my forever family! 💛 I’m a 5-month-old kitten who loves to play, snuggle, and be around my people. I’m a super friendly, social boy, and I get along well with other cats too!

I love finding my humans for pets, gentle head rubs, and lots of cuddles. I’m basically a little bundle of love who just needs a family to call my own!

I’m neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and FIV/FeLV negative. I’m also available through the rescue’s foster-to-adopt program, with all supplies provided, so we can make sure we’re the perfect match before my adoption is finalized.

If you think I could be your boy, please send my rescuers a message about adoption! 💛
