Portland Wheelers We provide social connection and joy through accessible outdoor biking experiences. As a nonprofit we depend on the support of our community.

Serving Greater Portland in southern Maine, we encourage volunteers and donors to give what they can. In turn, this allows us to continue offering our free rides to as many "wheelers" as possible.

This is why we’re here! These recent photos shared by our ride partners show the joy of friendship and time spent outdoors. Your donation provides 3,000 rides per year to your friends and neighbors who are most likely face social isolation and for whom time outdoors is often an out of reach luxury. Our photo reveal fundraiser is live and is your chance to bring social connection and joy to the community. Link in bio!

Support Portland Wheelers and help reveal an even more exciting future!

Our 2026 ride season is underway, and this year we are excited to introduce new ways for people to enjoy a Portland Wheelers ride. Our goal is even more joy, more connection, and more people exploring what’s possible.

You can help us reach these goals by buying a tile. Whether you take a tile for $2 or for $300, you make inclusive outdoor recreation possible for those who may not be able to access it otherwise.

Every tile taken off the board will reveal a little bit more of the image underneath, eventually revealing an exciting and empowering expansion of what we do. Help us keep the joy rolling and, in the process, unveil a future that even more emphatically declares that Biking is for EveryBODY!

"We crossed into a new time zone today. A halfway point!"

We have a new update from Tom! Longtime Portland Wheelers volunteer, Tom Roeber, is on the road right now. Tom is biking across the country along with Dean Bingham of Dean'sSweets. Dean has set out to raise $80,000 for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and, perhaps, in the process, set the record for the oldest person to do an unsupported coast-to-coast ride. Tom has agreed to provide updates from the road as time allows. Tom sent us a new update to share on May 29. Read his updates at the link below.
