Portland Wheelers We provide social connection and joy through accessible outdoor biking experiences. As a nonprofit we depend on the support of our community.

Serving Greater Portland in southern Maine, we encourage volunteers and donors to give what they can. In turn, this allows us to continue offering our free rides to as many "wheelers" as possible.

Portland Wheelers is humbled by the gift of a Van Raam Fun2Go side-by-side trike from Scott and Alice Hamilton, in memory of Scott’s mother, Ellie.

We introduced them to the trike yesterday on Back Cove and they took it out for its first ride!

An exciting part of the 1st Annual Biking is for EveryBODY Festival, made free to the public by Martin's Point Health Care, is the bike parade! At 1pm, join us for Lulu’s Ride, named in memory of Lila “Lulu” Kerman, a friend of Portland Wheelers. Bringing the party to the parade is Portland Bike Party with their speaker bike! Elite cyclist and Paralympic medalist, Clara Brown (Clara Brown) will have her impressive medals collection and race bike on hand for you to check out and she’ll lead the eclectic parade of bikes and trikes (hopefully slower than her usual rides) down Baxter Boulevard. Join us August 23 for all the fun!

"I made it home!" Tom's final trip update is up on our website. Tom might be the only person to take a short break from his cross-country ride to go bike a few hundred miles in Europe, then spend a day recreationally riding with a friend, just to hop back on the bike and finish up his trip home. Our thanks to Tom for giving us updates from his epic trip (mostly) with Dean'sSweets, and well done!

Longtime Portland Wheelers volunteer, Tom Roeber, is biking across the country this spring.
