Laureen Swanson Music for Youth Foundation

07/31/2026

This weeks Laureen Swanson Music 4 Youth Foundation scholarship was able to do a major upgrade to her instrument! Angelina is now playing on a professional level instrument, and we couldn’t be happier that she gets to really challenge herself without the instrument pushing back!
If you have ever wondered where your money goes if you have donated in the past, or are thinking about donating in the future, this is a prime example of how much a scholarship can help aspiring musicians!
If you have any questions about how to donate or what else you might be able to do to support the Lauren Swanson Music for Youth Foundation, don’t hesitate to reach out!

Starting this week, we are going to be highlight some of the wonderfully talented and creative students that have been recipients of scholarships. We are doing this for two reasons:
1. to show you where your money goes if you have donated in the past, or choose to donate in the future.
2. to show you how incredibly versatile scholarships can be!
We understand (and appreciate!!) that musical talents/interests/skills are not one size fits all. We wanted to reflect that with the scholarships as well. Be it a new instrument, music lessons, or a musical camp, may be able to help.
Be sure to follow along to see all of the ways the has helped the young creatives in your community, and how you might be able to help them, too!

The LSMFY Foundation is pleased to have been chosen by the Midcoast Charitable Foundation as one of 13 local organizations to receive a donation from them. We hope to improve the quality of life of children and young adults in the midcoast area by bringing them the joy of music. Our work could not be done without the help of Foundations like this. Thank you
