In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, CIRI's Project Rescue team joined The Center for Family Justice, Inc., the City of Bridgeport, the Bridgeport Police Department, and fellow community members at the annual vigil in Seaside Park. Together, we remembered lives lost to domestic violence, honored survivors, and came together in support of a safer, more compassionate community.
Through Project Rescue, CIRI provides comprehensive, trauma-informed support to survivors of human trafficking across Connecticut, including adults and children, both foreign-born and domestic. From accessing safe housing, medical care, and counseling to navigating legal services and rebuilding independence, our team works alongside survivors every step of the way. We also partner with community organizations, service providers, and law enforcement to raise awareness, recognize the signs of trafficking, and help more survivors access the support they deserve.
Following last week's Purple Thursday, we continue to stand with survivors throughout Domestic Violence Awareness Month and beyond. We're grateful for the community partners who dedicate themselves to this important work and for every opportunity to remind survivors that they are not alone.
