Be the Change Bridgeport is back on the block! This week our awesome team focused our efforts on the same neighborhood. We appreciate all the gratitude from the residents who saw our consistency and commended us for it. We hope that when we come back you’ll join us for a couple hours to fight the good fight.

If that bodega sign looks familiar, so might some of the issues with litter. Be the Change Bridgeport took on a block radius of this spot and got so much done! We thought the rain on Memorial Day was bad, we underestimated the sun! A little hot, but beautiful day to do a beautiful thing for our beautiful community.

Be the Change Bridgeport takes on Lafayette Park together. A reminder during these times to make sure you’re throwing your medical waste in the proper receptacle. As things warm up more children will be playing at the park, and they pick up and play with all sorts of things.

A super special thank you to our community dignitaries for showing up rain or shine today! Together with the Veterans Affairs office, Be the Change Bridgeport was able to plant flags at each of the headstones in Park Cemetery in just three short hours. Lots of love and laughter was all the sunshine we needed to keep us going!

We at Be the Change Bridgeport are proud of, and happy to do, the work we do. It has been a great honor helping the Veterans Affairs Office with their project, and we look forward to working with other organizations in the future.

Another successful day for Be the Change Bridgeport who accompanied the gentleman from the Bridgeport Veterans Affairs office on their fifth annual memorial service. Our team was successful in aiding the completion of the work at Lakeview Cemetery. We will now focus our efforts with the Bridgeport Veterans Affairs on St. Michaels.

Today we’d like to honor a member of our team, Larry Robinson, a US Veteran. Larry practices being a paternal figure in his communities daily, as well as helping our vets with he work he does leading the Veterans Affairs department. Larry continues to support our team with lunches and water bottles for our efforts these past hot few days, which is very fitting to his character. Larry, thank you for your services, your mentorship, and most of all your kindness.

Be the Change Bridgeport is proud to take on our first commission helping the Veterans Affairs Office locate, erect, or replace old flags on graves marking Bridgeport heroes. In Bridgeport’s two hundred-thirty year history, veterans, fire, police, ambulatory men and women, and much more have fought to protect the privacy and security of our residents. This weekend we’re giving our time to thank them for theirs.

Yesterday, Be the Change Bridgeport focused our efforts on Washington Park where we found all sorts of litter! Our team was happy to go in and make the parks a little safer for our children. We also made several new friends, shout out to Calvin for taking our group photo!

Be the Change Bridgeport is always looking for new locations and neighborhoods to do the good work. Call us out to your neighborhood and help us in our efforts so the beautiful streets of Bridgeport can shine a light hope and growth in our communities.

Today, Be the Change Bridgeport organized to clean a segment of Stratford Ave in Bridgeport. In the neighborhood many of us grew up in, our fine volunteers worked together to see, and hopefully inspire, change in this community.
Amongst typical runoff, plastic bags, fast food containers, and unrecycled bottles, BtCB also managed to clean up a lot of broken glass and rusty nails. Thank you to our volunteers who offered their own time to put our dream into reality; a happier, healthier, and safer Bridgeport.
