As the new school year approaches, every student has their list of supplies.
At DRIVE One, we're no different: except instead of needing folders and #2 Pencils, our students need things like paper towel, shop rags, and hand cleaner.
This year, we're asking our parents and families to help us get ready for fall classes by donating some much needed items that have been depleted over the last twelve months.
We know that one single person can't fulfill all of this: but together, even for $20, we can help narrow this list down and assure our students have the tools they need to be successful in a safe, clean learning environment.
All the items are available from either Harbor Freight, Home Depot, Sam's Club, or Target. You can also access our Amazon Items by visiting our list below.
We apperciate the support of all our DRIVE One families, and for any assistance you can provide in getting ready for the upcoming school year.

We will not be racing next Saturday at Owosso Speedway as originally scheduled.
Instead, we ask that you join us the morning of August 15th as we honor the life and memory of DRIVE One Charter Founder and Trustee Rev. Dianne VanMarter at Faith United Methodist Church in Macomb.
Her Celebration of Life begins with Visitation at 10am, followed by a Memorial Service at 11, then lunch in the Fellowship Hall.
DRIVE One and Faith UMC welcome and apperciate any DRIVE students and volunteers (current and former) who knew Pastor Di to attend and help us celebrate a remarkable legacy.

Join us next Thursday evening for a special Open House from 6-9pm, as we open the stall doors of the Barn to all students, families, and program supporters. We'll have projects on-display both in and outside. Folks will also get a fresh look at our ongoing expansion. Plus we'll have a special check presentation from the folks at the Consumers Energy Foundation at 7pm.
Food and beverages will be provided.
We hope to see you all there!

Just a reminder after a crazy couple of weeks, we are taking the next two Thursdays off to allow our students and staff some time to enjoy their summer.
We'll be back Thursday, August 6th in our normal 6-9pm timeslot.
We thank everyone for their help this month, and we hope you enjoy a much needed break.

Last Saturday, DRIVE One Students had the opportunity to judge the 35th Annual Camaro Superfest at the Multi-Lakes Conservatory in Commerce Township.
Students judged 70 pre-registered vehicles of the over 250+ on the property, ranging from bone-stock 5th and 6th gens to restored and retromodded 1st thru 3rd gens. The kids even selected their "Judge's Choice" Award. We're grateful to the Eastern Michigan Camaro Club (EMCC) for their support of DRIVE One over the years, and for paying it forward to the next generation of car guys simply by handing them the scorecards.

Last Thursday Night, we took a break from engines and race cars to make a “short” field trip to Stahls Automotive Foundation for their monthly Cruise Night. Students were able to tour the museum, which featured a lot of vehicles they learned about in class this year (from a 1886 Benz replica and early EV’s, to an original 1902 Olds Runabout like the replica our program build in 2025). Students also got to ride along in a Model A pickup, gawk at all the awesome cruisers, and swing over to New Haven for some ice cream in the Michigan Military Technical Historical Society’s CUCV.
That was quite a lot for a rare Thursday Session outside the barn.

DRIVE One is sadden to announce the passing of one of it's Charter Members: Reverend Dianne VanMarter.

On a Saturday in Spring of 2012, "Pastor Di" met with Auto Shop Instructor Paul Tregembo Jr. and Machinist Dale Strubank for lunch. It's hard to believe that the initial framework those three drew-up that day at an Applebee's would go-on to help hundreds of students graduate high school and find long, sustaining careers in the trades.

Pastor Di was instrumental in DRIVE's early years: opening the doors of her church to students before every Thursday Night class so they weren't working on empty stomachs. She chaperoned DRIVE's first solo trip to the Detroit Autorama in 2013, volunteered on the '31 Ford Roadster, and was vital in students attending national competitions including the Grand National Roadster Show, IX Piston-Power Autorama, Milwaukee, St. Ignace, and more. She served as Secretary on our Board of Trustees since it's inception, and created an annual Awards Night Dinner, which for years honored the work of our program's students, volunteers, and unsung heroes.

Perhaps most importantly, Pastor Di served as both a personal and spiritual supporter for those kids who needed one: presenting graduating seniors with personalized Bibles, attending Eagle Scout confirmations and Grad Parties, buying tickets to Tigers Games for kids who couldn't afford to go, and even baptizing a student who she helped find God.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her husband Merle, daughter Lisa, son Bill, granddaughter Shelby, and the entire Faith UMC family.

Pastor Di was more than just a Faithful Servant: she was our constant reminder that DRIVE One wasn't just about building vehicles, but serving as one for God's great work.

"God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them."-Hebrews 6:10

DRIVE One has teamed with several area car clubs this summer to help fundraise and continue fueling future gearheads.
This coming Sunday, our friends at the Easy Rodders of Michigan are asking for students to volunteer with their annual Car Show at the Packard Proving Grounds in Shelby Twp.
Students will direct show traffic, greet over 100 vehicles as they come thru the gate, help with registration, and various other light-duty jobs. They will need to arrive at the Proving Grounds @ 7am and will be done with volunteering at noon. Best of all, Ms. Vicki will sign-off on for any students who need NHS/NCTHS or volunteer credit hours for the summer.
If you have any questions, please feel free to send us a direct message, and we hope to see both the students (and some familiar faces) at the show!

DRIVE One is excited to announce it's a received a $5,000 Grant from the Consumers Energy Foundation towards our "RevUp" after-school program.
Funds from this grant will provide students with updated training equipment, such as electronic torque wrenches, a new OBD II Scanner, shop supplies, and much more.
We thank CEF for this generous support of our program as we continue "Fueling Future Gearheads" across Southeast Michigan.

Join DRIVE One this week as we take a Thursday-off from engines and project cars, and take a cruise over to Stahls Automotive Foundation for their monthly Rockin' Roll-In Cruise Night.
We'll be taking several vehicles to the show, which includes free access to the museum, live music, food trucks, and more.
Best of all, students will have the opportunity to ride and get some ice cream in a battle-tested Chevy CUCV (Commercial Utility Cargo Vehicle) courtesy of our friends at the Michigan Military Technical Historical Society.
All students will need to meet at the Barn an hour earlier at 5pm to experience the show and museum.
We're looking forward to an awesome Thursday Night out with cool cars and great people, and hope to see some familiar faces there.
