Pet Rescue Alliance We specialize in the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of homeless dogs from high-kill shelters Please visit us at https://petrescuealliance.com/ to apply.

Pet Rescue Alliance is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization specializing in the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of homeless dogs. Our vision is a day when pets of all kinds can escape their previous lives of abuse or neglect and live in homes where they can provide their new family with unconditional love and be given the same in return. In order to meet one of our dogs, you must fill out our Adoption application online (Chrome works best). The best way to check if we are still taking/reviewing applications for a dog is to check the PRA website for the current list. If a dog is still listed, we are still accepting applications! https://petrescuealliance.com/dogs-to-adopt/

Due to COVID-19, we have an unprecedented amount of applications coming in to adopt our pups. As an all volunteer-based rescue, we are trying to get to everyone as soon as we can. Thank you for your patience!

⚠️ NOTE ON TERRIERS:
Due to Breed-Specific Legislation (BSL), terrier-type dogs must be adopted or fostered outside of PG County.
📄 Out-of-county adopters must bring TWO documents showing the same address.

🙋‍♀️ FAQs
🔸 Why are so many dogs urgent?
PG County enforces a breed ban on terriers (pit bull-type dogs). These dogs can’t be adopted by county residents and must find homes or fosters outside the county.

🔸 Can I adopt if I live outside PG County?
Absolutely—we rely on it!

🔸 How many dogs can I meet?
You may meet up to 2 dogs per visit.

🔸 What is the adoption fee?
Fees vary by weight—larger dogs are less expensive. Call the shelter or check their website for current rates.

🔸 How do I foster an urgent dog?
Urgent dogs must go through approved rescue partners.
👉 Comment on the dog’s post or message us—we’ll help connect you with a rescue.
