It has been just over a week since Finding Your Voice took the stage. We are still feeling it.
After two intense, beautiful, and meaningful weeks, we took a much needed rest to breathe, reflect, and let it all sink in. What we experienced in the studio, and in those rehearsals, workshops, and on the stage, is something we will carry with us for a very long time.
We have been searching for the right words, and perhaps there are none that are quite enough. But we want to try.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
To our veterans: Charlie Carter, April Harris (and Chris Harris), Antoinette Scott, and Nathan Sykes. Thank you for your courage, your vulnerability, and your trust. You are the heart of this work, and this performance would not exist without you.
To our workshop leaders: Nancy Watson, Bill Watson, and Katharina Abderholden. Thank you for planting the seeds of trust and connection that set this collaboration in motion.
To our choreographers: Katharina Abderholden, Brooke Bero, Brianna Crockett, Matthew Frezzell, and Sophia Morgan. Thank you for listening deeply and creating with such intention and artistry.
To the incredible dancers of Minnesota Ballet and Minnesota Ballet Academy who gave everything on that stage. We are so proud of you.
To our audience: Thank you for showing up, for being present, and for receiving these stories with such open hearts.
And to The Depot Foundation, Pat Jens, and Minnesota Ballet thank you for making this dream a reality.
This is Lake Arts Project. This is what art can do.
