💜 WHAT. A. DAY. 💜

Yesterday was one of those outreach days that reminded me exactly why I continue to do what I do and why I absolutely LOVE the people we meet along the way.

First, I have to talk about my love for the

These two and their crew have held a special place in my heart throughout my journey with Colin’s Wish. For years we have worked together, often quietly behind the scenes, never caring about who got the credit; we were just figuring out how to make things happen for the people who need us most.

I truly tried to walk this line with them, but somewhere along the way I couldn’t keep up! 😂 They took bigger steps than I could ever fathom taking, and I have watched them grow into something pretty freaking incredible.

And I couldn’t be more prouder of them!!

They are the REAL DEAL!!!

The love, respect and collaboration we have always shared means so much to me. I’m perfectly happy with my small but mighty Colin’s Wish crew; I don’t need a huge organization or a million people to keep track of! 😂 Give me my dedicated old faithfuls who show up, know what needs to be done and gets it DONE.

Now Agape has a new place in Camden to call HOME — the Agape House to be named after Tim’s daughter Daylen will be callled “Days Community & Wellness Center”💜 and they invited Colin’s Wish to bring our outreach to their location on Atlantic Avenue, just around the corner from our “Blue Steps” location.

And yesterday was our first day.

Of course, because apparently nothing I do can ever start without a little chaos, we were late. 🙄

On my way to outreach, one of my crockpots of ribs tipped over when I made a turn. That little mishap may have been a blessing, because it was when I realized MY BRAKES WEREN’T WORKING.

Thankfully I was right around the corner from home. I made it back without having to stop, pulled into my driveway and hit that emergency brake as hard as I could. Thank God, I stopped.

Then came the fun part — unloading EVERYTHING from my work van and reloading it into my personal vehicle so we could STILL get ourselves to Camden.

Because apparently street outreach was happening whether my van liked it or not. 😂💜

We finally pulled up to Agape and started unloading.

And THIS was my favorite part…

The purple party tent hadn’t even made it UP yet!

As soon as people saw that purple tent coming out, they started lining up.

We didn’t even have time to think about being late anymore. Everybody jumped in, that tent went up in NO TIME, and we went straight into FULL FEEDING MODE.

For about 45 minutes straight, we MOVED.

Food. Drinks. Supplies. Conversations. Familiar faces. New faces. Hugs. Laughs. Resources. Love.

And then…

WE RAN OUT OF FOOD!

And I remember thinking, WE GOT THIS.

We met new people. We had some really great conversations. We reconnected with people we already know and love.

But maybe my favorite part is that we found even MORE people to love.

And THAT excites me.

Because that’s what this has always been about for me.

We even made sure two grocery bags filled with meats made their way to our beloved Hoochie Mamas. Thankfully, our girls have an apartment they can call home, so when we have meats and groceries we can send their way, we do. We LOVE those girls.

Yesterday wasn’t perfect.

My brakes were nonexistent.
We started late.
We had to switch vehicles.
A crockpot of ribs went for a ride it definitely wasn’t supposed to take. 😂
And we ran completely out of food.

And somehow, it was PERFECT.

To my small but mighty crew — my old faithfuls — thank you. You showed up, jumped in and did what you ALWAYS do. I don’t need an army, I’ve got you. 💜

And to my Agape family — thank you for inviting Colin’s Wish into your new home. Thank you for the years of friendship, collaboration, love and mutual respect. I am so proud of what you have built and forever grateful that although our journeys have grown differently, we have never stopped walking this road together.

Yesterday we fed people.

We handed out harm-reduction supplies and resources.

We talked.

We listened.

We laughed.

We loved.

And we found a whole bunch of new people to love.

I think we’re going to like it here. 💜

No judgment. No lectures. No strings attached.

Just showing up. 💪🏼

Meeting people where they are. Loving them where they are. And reminding them that their lives matter.

Welcome to our new chapter with Agape!!!!! 🫶🏼

If you or someone you know is struggling, PLEASE reach out! There are resources available, and you do not have to figure it out alone. WE are here for YOU!! 🙏🏼

And if you would like to be part of what we do, WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE YOU! Every donation, every meal, every case of water and every helping hand allows us to reach and love just a few more people. 💜
