DORA NEEDS US AGAIN. This is one of the hardest updates to share. After her emergency dental surgery and ear treatment, Dora was finally eating normally again, and we thought she was improving.

But just three weeks later, her foster noticed she was becoming alarmingly thin, despite continuing to eat. Last week, Dora was rushed back to the hospital for bloodwork and an ultrasound.

Dora’s medical bills have reached $843.81, and we need your help.

We are anxiously awaiting results this week, praying for answers and hoping she pulls through.

Rescue work is full of beautiful victories, but also heartbreaking setbacks. Just when we think an animal is finally healing, another emergency comes along. We fight for them because every life matters, but we cannot do it alone.

Your donation, no matter how small, helps cover Dora’s care and keeps our clinic balance cleared so we can continue saving other animals in need.

Look at who we were able to rescue from surviving the streets of Yabucoa and was going to a kill shelter!👏 We weren’t gonna let this guy get tossed away, no sir! His life matters too much just like all the other satos of Puerto Rico.

Bently is now safe and has gone through basic veterinary protocol: vaccines, 4DX, preventatives, and f***l. All tests so far have come back negative! 🎉 Which is a total win because that means he’s not only a healthy guy but that he’s almost ready for adoption and closer to going to his forever home.

There are a few things everyone should be aware of. Since we don’t know how long Bently had been surviving as a stray, we know nothing of his backstory, all we know is, he appeared at someone’s house and was going to be taken to a kill shelter without any chance of coming out alive. The lovely techs at Baldwin Animal Hospital have told us he is very sweet but also very shy, mainly, he isn’t fond of leashes. Perhaps he was a dog that had been tied up all his life and seeing or having one around his neck may trigger some fear issues. Although sad as this may seem is still quite manageable! We are going to get him a harness and have the techs help him understand that it’s okay for him to feel safe and secure when being leashed.

As always, we do need donations not only for Bently but for our other rescues that need their vetting covered to get them closer to their forever homes and happy endings. ✨ 🏠 🐶

🚨 Foster urgently needed for this fluffy little guy! He’s a medium-sized male dog weighing around 20-28 lbs. The man reached out to us is desperately trying to find help before his uncle takes him to a shelter. Shelters in Puerto Rico are 95% kill shelters! All non-kill shelters are beyond maximum capacity and have a long waiting list. The dog is currently located in Yabocoa, Puerto Rico. We are trying to help but without a secure foster and not to mention our VERY low funds, we simply have our hands tied. Please DM us if you would love to foster him! Unfortunately this is the normal in Puerto Rico. Beautiful friendly dogs at the beach looking for love and attention ☹️

That’s why even a $5 donation can go so far and help us at the very least provide meals to the animals we come across. Please help us if you can🙏🏼
