We are so proud that our President and CEO, Dr. LaDonna Butler, LMHC, MCAP, represented The Well MN at the Capitol for Mental Health Day on the Hill—standing alongside partners across Minnesota to advocate for access, equity, and sustainable mental health care.

Joining leaders from NAMI Minnesota and the Minnesota Counseling Association, she championed the importance of Medicaid access, preserving critical services, and advancing prevention and early intervention as essential infrastructure for thriving communities.

We are especially grateful for the opportunity to engage with Representative Rick Hansen in meaningful dialogue about strengthening Minnesota’s mental health system.

At The Well MN, we believe connection is infrastructure—and when we invest in care early, we don’t just respond to need, we transform outcomes.

We are proud. And we’re just getting started.

The City of Saint Paul proclaimed MN HBCU Alumni, the National Pan-Hellenic Council (Divine Nine), and The Links, Inc. Day, recognizing generations of Black civic leadership and institutional impact in our region.
We are proud that our President and CEO, Dr. LaDonna Butler, stood alongside representatives from these historic organizations as the proclamation was received. As a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (founded in 1913), her presence reflects The Well’s alignment with structured service, scholarship, and organized community leadership.

One hundred years after Black history was formalized as an act of preservation and truth-telling, its influence remains visible in the institutions that strengthen our schools, neighborhoods, and civic life.
At The Well, we understand that connection is infrastructure — the foundation upon which trust is built and communities endure.

We remain committed to the work.

As we enter a sacred season marked by both Lent and Ramadan, I’m reminded of the shared call across traditions — to pause, reflect, and renew our commitment to compassion, service, and care for one another.

For many, this is a time of fasting, prayer, and intentional reflection — an opportunity to examine how we live, how we lead, and how we show up in our communities. It is also a reminder that spiritual practice is not only personal; it shapes how we contribute to the wellbeing of those around us.

In my work and in my life, I’m holding this season as an invitation to deepen humility, strengthen connection, and recommit to the values that sustain healthy, just, and thriving communities — care, repair, belonging, and wellbeing.

May this time offer clarity, grounding, and renewed purpose to all who observe.

We bid a heartfelt farewell to our beloved Police Chaplain, Reverend Dr. Bessie Mohead, after 20 years of faithful service.

From her earnest words of encouragement during our annual memorial services to her inspiring messages at our swearing-in and promotion ceremonies, “Pastor Mo” has been a steady presence and a source of light for all of us here at the Police Department.

Her compassion, guidance, and unwavering support have brought strength and comfort to our officers and community alike. We are deeply grateful for her two decades of dedicated service and wish her joy and peace in this next chapter of her journey.

Our hearts are heavy as we hold the city of Minneapolis in prayer. In just the last 24 hours, four lives have been taken by deadly shootings, including the tragedy at Annunciation Catholic School. We extend our deepest compassion to the families grieving unimaginable loss, to the students and faculty shaken by fear, and to the community now carrying fresh wounds of violence.

At The Well, we pause to remember that healing is not only personal but also collective. We pray for peace to rest over the city, for courage and strength to sustain our neighbors, and for protection over all who serve on the frontlines as first responders.
