Life’s complicated!

For those interested in the similarities and differences between PTSD and CPTSD.

Neither are fun, and both share some commonalities such as nightmares, flashbacks (emotional flashbacks are more common in CPTSD), hyper vigilance, memory loss and/or fragmentation and feelings of guilt, shame and numbness.

Dissociation and emotional flashbacks are the most challenging parts of living with CPTSD for me.

When your normal is no longer normal, you second guess yourself and have a lot of self doubt.

I wouldn’t wish either on my worst enemies. However, I wouldn’t change my past, it’s made me who I am today.

No matter what our situation, we have the power of choice. We can choose to use our hurt and pain to heal and help others, instead of living with anger and resentment.

Always choose love, compassion and kindness.

Knowledge and understanding is the key to reducing stigma.

Love to see you tonight!

Mental health matters, and sometimes the hardest part is simply starting the conversation. Watching Kevin Hines’ The Ripple Effect is a powerful way to open that door—reminding us that there is hope, help, and strength in speaking up. One conversation truly can create a ripple effect and help save a life. 💙
