Center for Literacy, Arts & Sciences Established in 1957 as Mirawood Day School, we became New Mirawood School and Child Care Center in 1997.

In 1998 the current management team embarked on a number of program improvement initiatives. Within a few years the center earned and achieved accreditation status from the Accredited Professional Preschool Learning Environment (A.P.P.L.E) accreditation body. For practical purposes, the name was later changed to New Mirawood Academy.

In 2013, we revamped our offerings to ensure a 21st century learning environment, creating our newest program the Center for Literacy Arts and Sciences – CLAS – 501(c)3 Charitable Non-Profit Early Care and Education organization.
