Thank you, Family of Christ Church! 💛

This past summer, the congregation at Family of Christ Church chose Foster Together MN as the recipient of their noisy offering, and we are so grateful.

Every coin and every gift added up to something bigger: support for foster, kinship, and adoptive families right here in our community. Generosity like this helps us keep showing up with connection, resources, and care for the kids and families who need it.

Family of Christ has been a steady partner to us, and being chosen for this offering means a lot. Thank you for your generosity, your trust, and for walking alongside us. We’re so glad to be doing this work together.

❄️ Winter is coming, and our families are getting ready. ❄️

Our Abundant Goods shelves still have some gaps, and these needs come straight from the families who will be shopping with us at our Family Fun Fall Event on November 7th. We’d love to have everything stocked by then so every kiddo (and teen!) can walk out warm and ready for Minnesota winter.

What we still need:
🧥 Snowpants: our biggest need, especially in youth and teen sizes (S-XL+), plus baby and toddler sizes
🧥 Girls’ winter jackets: infant through adult sizes
🧥 Boys’ winter jackets: toddler sizes and youth/teen sizes (L-2X+)

New or gently used items in good condition are welcome.

We are collecting new and gently used WINTER GEAR for foster, kinship and adoptive families. Right now, we have a high need for snow pants and winter boots of all sizes ❄️ We will begin distributing winter gear to families on November 7th so please consider donating before then!

‼️GENTLY USED ITEMS: We gladly accept gently used items that are clean and in good condition. To help us provide dignified items to youth in foster care, please make sure donations have no stains, holes, tears (worn knees on pants are a common one!), odors, or other obvious signs of wear, and that they’ve been cleaned before drop-off. For example, shoes and boots should be free of mud. Because we’re unable to keep items that don’t meet these standards, they create extra waste and take up limited volunteer time. Thank you for helping us make sure every youth who visits Abundant Goods receives items they can feel good about!

Last week we shared an urgent need at Abundant Goods, and you showed up in a big way. Packages have been arriving, shelves are filling, and our volunteers have been smiling ear to ear while unpacking.

To everyone who ordered an item, thank you. To everyone who shared the link, thank you. And to those who are still quietly stepping up, we see you and we’re so grateful.

Because of you, youth in foster care across our community will walk into Abundant Goods and find what they need, with dignity and with the message that people care about them. That’s what belonging looks like, and you’re building it with us.

🎄 Host a Holiday Wishing Tree! 🎄

Here’s how it works: we provide the tags, you hang them on a tree in your space, and your customers or clients pick a tag, purchase the item, and bring it back.

Choose between holiday gift tags or essential item tags (or a mix of both!). Essential item tags cover our highest-need items, like clothing, hygiene products, and diapers, which stock the shelves of Abundant Goods so youth in foster care have what they need long after the holidays are over. A single tag can mean a child gets what they need with dignity, in a moment when it matters most.

Every child deserves to feel valued and cared for, in December and all year long. 💛
