Happy National First Responders Day!

Today, we honor and thank all the police officers, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, and other first responders who answer the call when others need help the most. Thank you for your courage, dedication, and sacrifices. Your service does not go unnoticed. Stay safe out there!

On November 2nd, 2026, the Peoria County Coroner’s Office and OSF Healthcare St. Francis Medical Center will collaborate to lay to rest Peoria County's unclaimed decedents.

Community members, family, and friends are invited to pay their respects and gather for the mass burial. The location is St Mary's Cemetery in West Peoria, IL, at 10:00am. A motorcade procession will depart the Coroner's office promptly at 9:45am; if you wish to participate, please arrive at our office at 2116 N. Sheridan Rd, Peoria, at 9:30am for line-up.

If you believe your loved one has gone unclaimed, please contact the Peoria County Coroner’s Office at 309-669-2000 or email [email protected] by October 30th so we can make arrangements. We will make every effort to bring families together and respect their wishes.

Thank you for your kindness, compassion, prayers, and support. It is our belief that all decedents deserve the dignity, respect, and compassion they deserve as they are laid to rest.

May they rest in peace.
