Girls in Gear At Girls in Gear, we're on a mission to ensure that every girl grows into her biggest, boldest, and brightest self - on and off her bike.

We find bikes to be an extraordinary tool for change in ourselves and our communities as a conduit for lessons on kindness, compassion, and inner-strength. The goal of the program is to introduce the joy of safe cycling to young riders while creating a supportive environment fostering personal growth. Our programs are designed for riders of all ability levels with a focus on having fun and trying their best.

Our fearless leader, Gabrielle Rossi is coming to Here's The Story Bookstore (1043 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union) for a morning full of fun, reading, and a community bike ride on Saturday, November 7! All are invited to read and ride.

Our Glide to Ride clinic is perfect for girls learning to pedal for the first time, from “too-nervous-to-try” to “so-close-I-can-taste-it.” With supportive coaches and a judgment-free vibe, we help riders build confidence, have fun, and (yup!) ride on two wheels.

We are SO excited to announce that our very own Gabrielle Elisabeth Rossi is releasing her first children’s book with Strong Girl Publishing! For anyone who has been a part of the Girls in Gear community, you will quickly see that it is a beautiful case of art imitating life.

Coming out on October 27, Lizzie Learns to Ride follows 6-year-old Lizzie as she navigates the nerves of pedaling for the very first time. It's a sweet, funny, big-feelings-and-all story for every kid who's ever stood next to their bike and thought, “not today.” (Spoiler: today might just be the day!)

Join Team Girls in Gear for 2027! 🦄🚲

We are incredibly proud to be an Official Charity Partner of the 131st Boston Marathon® presented by Bank of America.

On April 19, 2027, we're trading our helmets for running sneakers to run 26.2 miles and raise funds to support our no-questions-asked scholarship policy, ensuring every girl has the opportunity to ride with us.

Applications are open now through November 15, 2026, to join our team, and selections are being made on a rolling basis.
