Polska Szkoła w Ann Arbor Founded in 2011 by parents whose dream was for their children to learn the Polish language. Our groups are age and level-appropriate. all in Polish.

The Polish Language Center of Ann Arbor (Polska Szkoła, Polish School) is a nonprofit language school in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We teach Polish language and culture to adults and children from 3 years of age and older. For more information, please visit our website at polskaszkola.weebly.com or email [email protected]

The youngest children (ages 3-5) follow a play-based curriculum of total immersion. They play, sing, dance, draw, build, listen to stories, read books, etc. The early-school-age groups are divided into beginner and advanced levels. Both groups follow a playful but academic curriculum. They learn reading, writing, speaking, listening, and culture in Polish. The beginner group uses a textbook designed for Polish-as-a-second-language learners. The advanced group uses a textbook series designed for early elementary students in Poland. The older advanced group is challenged by materials designed for upper grades in Poland. The groups academic goals include advanced work on enlarging their vocabulary, improving their spelling and grammar, and broadening their knowledge of Polish culture, history, and geography. The adult Polish-as-a-foreign-language group focuses on everyday communication while learning listening, speaking, reading, writing, grammar, vocabulary, and culture from authentic materials. Other groups can be formed as needed. Our teachers have degrees in education, teaching foreign languages, early childhood education and related fields. They also have experience with and a passion for teaching children.

Serdecznie dziękujemy pani Marii Skurjat-Silva z Warszawy za ciekawe opowieści o życiu Fryderyka Chopina i piękną muzykę. Nasi uczniowie słuchali z zainteresowaniem, a nawet mieli okazję trochę potańczyć! 🎶
