Madison Roller Derby Our home season typically runs October to February of each year. MRD is a grassroots effort run by an all-volunteer group of skaters and non-skaters.

MRD is a local 501(c)(3) organization and the premier flat track roller derby league in Madison, Wisconsin, providing a positive community and a competitive sport in a fun atmosphere. As a local 501(c)(3) organization and Madison’s premier roller derby league the Mad Rollin’ Dolls (MRD) first laced up its skates for the public in late 2004 and began its first full season in 2005. Since then, the dynamic skaters and dedicated volunteers have been providing a sport that not only features pure athleticism but a punch of serious fun for its many fans. These derby enthusiasts are behind everything from practices and bouts to merchandise and community involvement. Visiting skater/want to drop in on a practice? Email us at [email protected]

On July 22nd, Corey Ruiz was shot and killed by Madison police.

As a league rooted in community, we want to acknowledge that events like this affect people in deeply personal and different ways. We recognize that many members of our community—especially our Black neighbors—may be carrying grief, fear, or exhaustion.

Madison Roller Derby believes that caring for one another extends beyond the track. We remain committed to fostering a community where everyone is treated with dignity, where people feel they belong, and where compassion leads our interactions.

We encourage our community to check in on one another, listen with empathy, and continue building the kind of inclusive and supportive space that roller derby strives to be.

Our hearts are with everyone impacted.
