🍎🥧 Apple Pie Week at Grace Arbor! 🥧🍎
There are some traditions that are about so much more than what comes out of the oven. ❤️
Apple Pie Week has become a special tradition for our Grace Arbor family. This year began with beautiful, fresh-picked apples brought to us by Tina, daughter of our dear Donna. 🍎 And from there, we got busy!
Throughout the week, our Grace Arbor family made homemade pie dough from scratch, rolled out crusts, sliced apples, prepared our apple pie filling, and assembled 20 homemade double-crust apple pies!
But the sweetest part wasn’t the pies—it was everything that happened around the table.
The smell of apples and cinnamon, the feel of dough beneath our hands, the sound of rolling pins and laughter—it all gave us an opportunity to reminisce. We talked about picking and growing apples, Grandma or Mama baking in the kitchen, and the pies we once made for our own families.
And Apple Pie Week brought us some very special visitors! Officer Quolettea and K-9 Officer Rowan stopped by Grace Arbor, and didn’t just visit—she rolled up her sleeves, put on some gloves, and stayed to help us make pies! 👮🏽♀️🐾🥧 We loved having them spend time with our Grace Arbor family and become part of this year’s tradition.
Activities like this engage all of our senses while connecting us with memories and experiences from years past. Sometimes our hands remember things before we ever find the words—and there’s something pretty special about rolling dough, crimping a pie crust, and realizing, “I’ve done this before.” ❤️
20 homemade apple pies. Plenty of flour. Lots of laughter. Special visitors. And more memories than we could ever count.
🍎🥧 That’s Apple Pie Week at Grace Arbor. ❤️
