STAR Florida is a 101 day long tournament designed to encourage anglers to get out and enjoy more time on the water and to educate the general public about the importance of conservation of Florida’s marine resources. The format encourages anglers of all ages to protect and conserve Florida’s fishery resources for future viability and availability for all recreational anglers. One of the easiest places to pick one up is your local West Marine. The identifier must be visible in your catch photos for entries to be eligible, so it's an important part of getting tournament-ready.

Through the Guy Harvey Foundation Youth Scholarship Division presented by Realtree Fishing, eligible anglers ages 6–17 have the chance to compete, learn, and earn valuable scholarship opportunities while enjoying time on the water.

To participate, anglers must be a current CCA New Tide member in good standing, be between the ages of 6 and 17 as of May 23, 2026, and use rod, reel, hook, and line to catch their competition entry.

The Trash Division is a fun and meaningful way to get kids engaged this summer. Spend the day fishing Florida's bays, estuaries, and coastal waters, then take a few extra minutes to help protect those same fisheries by picking up trash.
