achieved 1st place at today's Wiggs Chess Tournament, its 20th anniversary opening their campus to allow city scholastic clubs the chance to compete, team vs. team and individually as well. Our club is in Year 10 & set some really cool milestones today that we're really proud of. Whether it was with our more experienced players or 6th grade members that made their first over the board tournament move. Much gratitude to Borderland Chess & El Paso Chess Rockstars for facilitating the tournament, Wiggs Middle for being a goated host in the El Paso Chess community and the schools that came out to play. We're at a point where we're competing with representation from both our school club at Canyon Hills Middle and our community club at the El Paso Richard Burges Branch Public Library which encourages kids from all school campuses to compete.

Big props to a Chess Kid named Pierce aka for achieving 1st place for his second scholastic chess tournament in a row and our captain Urijah for making a lot of room at the top for Canyon. Also to our Puma King Master of the Year for checkmating all his opponents for what I believe was his first undefeated 4 round run. To our Puma Queen Master of the Year , her presence is everything and our guy Wolfenstein for taking the initiative to show up & recognizing that we learn when we lose. These memories are only possible with great scholastic club opponents so big shout out to all participants, including our main man of Chapin High. He encourages EVERYONE to get out and . You may be voting for him someday.
