There is help and hope to heal the body and address the psychological issues.
We work with 2 very special EMDR trained clinicians in Puerto Rico and their clients to change the outcomes and provide relief on the island.

Together we are changing the name of therapy from hopeless (little to no results-only temporary behavioral change or medication of symptoms) to healing the mind and body and freeing people from their pasts.

Children have limited strategies for managing stress independently. They depend on caring adults to help calm their stress response and return their neural physiology to equilibrium.

Stress causes the brain to produce chemicals and hormones to prepare for fight or flight. When stress is ongoing these same chemicals and hormones harm brain structures.

Prolonged stress and trauma during brain development causes the body systems to focus on conserving energy and resources. When energy is invested in survival it is not available for other developmental tasks. This is most clearly seen in the classroom when brains in survival-mode are required to function in thinking-mode.
Instead of calling the outcome 'challenging behavior', we should call it 'survival behavior'.
