Since our founding in 2001 by cousins Lori Guadagno and Lisa Landwirth Ullmann, Art with a Heart in Healthcare has served thousands of patients and their families at several locations in Jacksonville, FL including Wolfson Children's Hospital, Nemours Children's Clinic, Baptist Medical Center, Mayo Clinic, and Mayo Clinic Cancer Center at St. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, we rely on the g

enerosity of others to support our mission. Six days a week, our talented team of staff artists, community volunteers and interns from the University of North Florida develop sessions individualized to meet the needs of patients and families at bedside or in groups. What differentiates us is an emphasis on personal expression from a fine art perspective. We believe that creativity is fundamental to the human experience and that artistic expression promotes physical health and well-being that leads to improved patient outcomes. Art expression helps humanize the high-tech atmosphere of the clinical settings while diminishing fear, pain, boredom and depression associated with hospitalization. Art can empower a patient in an otherwise powerless situation.

Things might feel out of your control, you likely feel lonely, and you may lose a sense of who you really are.

There’s nothing better than hearing “I love art!” over and over during a session.

Branson and his mom spent the morning in the playroom painting sunsets together with our team.

For a while, they were able to focus on creating and enjoy a really sweet mom and son moment during their hospital stay.

We loved getting to create alongside them and seeing just how much joy art brought to their morning ❤️🎨

Congratulations to Robynne, our latest student to complete the UNF internship program!

As a psychology student, Robynne spent several weeks alongside our team, working one on one with patients and in group settings while helping carry out our mission to enhance the healing process through fine art.

We loved having Robynne as part of our team and seeing the beautiful artwork she created in response to her experiences with Art with a Heart in Healthcare.

Jack’s love of animals and the natural world inspired “Wild Adventure,” a one of a kind piece created using images from his own collection of National Geographic magazines 🐼🎨

While in Wolfson Children's Hospital, creating with Art with a Heart in Healthcare gave Jack a chance to focus on something he loves, explore his ideas, and make something completely his own.

See Jack’s finished piece alongside 24 other works by Wolfson Children’s Hospital patients and siblings in “From the Heart,” a special exhibition celebrating Art with a Heart in Healthcare’s 25th anniversary sponsored by Florida Blue.
