Today we proudly fly the flags over East Hills in honor of Columbus Day—a day that commemorates the spirit of exploration, courage, and the lasting impact of Christopher Columbus’s voyage in 1492. As we celebrate this holiday, we’re reminded of the values of discovery, perseverance, and service that continue to inspire our community.

🚗 Rev your engines and join us for the annual Antique & Classic Car and Motorcycle Cruise!

Sunday, August 9 | 10 a.m.
- Back lot of Crichton McCormick Park
- Portage Area Summerfest

Registration is just $5 — all proceeds support East Hills Kiwanis projects that benefit kids and our local community.

Bring your classic, antique, custom, or motorcycle and cruise in with fellow enthusiasts. Free admission and parking for everyone to enjoy the cars, the festival atmosphere, food, music, and more.

A long-standing tradition continues to honor local heroes while also raising money to support the East Hills community. On each patriotic holiday, designated areas along Bedford Street and Scalp Avenue in Johnstown are adorned with high-quality American-made U.S. flags, each one honoring a local veteran or active-duty service member. The organization behind this 40-year-old tradition is the East Hills Kiwanis Club of Johnstown, a group of local volunteers dedicated to giving back to the East Hills community through service projects.
