Joan Of Arc Project The Joan of Arc Parade walks every January 6th on Joan of Arc's birthday. The Krewe de Jeanne d'Arc hosts additional events throughout the year.

The purpose of the Joan of Arc Project is to honor and celebrate Joan of Arc’s life in unique artistic and educational ways, including the production of the annual Joan of Arc Parade and Salon de Jeanne d’Arc. The Krewe de Jeanne d’Arc seeks to keep Joan’s story and spirit alive by hosting events, workshops, and presentations that illuminate Joan’s heroism and timelessness, while connecting her to

the French heritage and pride of New Orleans. “The Maid of Orleans” inspires citizens of New Orleans and people around the world; we welcome people of all faiths and backgrounds to join in our joyous, New Orleans-style revelry.

Founder Amy has joined forces with Japan Society of New Orleans and New Orleans Jazz Museum (and its director, 2026 Krewe de Jeanne d'Arc's King Charles VII GREG LAMBOUSY) to coordinate a new fest with Lafcadio scholar and Tulane university professor Matt Smith!

We know there's an awesome Mini Renaissance Fest at Urban South! tomorrow and Krewe de Jeanne d'Arc will be hosting a table, and this is a direct conflict, SO...by all means...do what you gotta do but maybe, you can do BOTH!!!

This is free and open to the public; drop in anytime! There's live music thanks to the New Orleans Jazz Museum as the culminating presentation at 4:15-5:15, featuring Kanako Fuwa Brooks and Detroit Brooks!

But if not, just know this is something to look for in the coming years and let [email protected] know if you'd like to get involved!

Read all about it here, thanks to our friends at French Quarter Journal, who do so much to celebrate French Quarter life, happenings, and histories!!

"The event celebrating one of New Orleans' most important writers is the brainchild of Amy Kirk Duvoison, founder of the Joan Of Arc Project. Her co-founder in this project is Tulane University professor Matt Smith."

Announcing A Free Evening of Museums, Memory, and American Stories Presented in conjunction with America’s 250th Anniversary!

French Quarter Museum Night is a free, after-hours museum evening presented by the French Quarter Museum Association (FQMA), bringing together several museums for a shared celebration of history, culture, and community in advance of America’s 250th anniversary.

On Thursday, July 2, 2026, the FQMA invites locals and tourists to experience the French Quarter’s cultural corridor—moving between museums, exhibitions, performances, and activities that reflect the diverse stories that shaped the United States, many of which unfolded in New Orleans.

Our friends at Nous will be offering a special edition of Krewe de Nous , featuring a performance by one of their Fulbright France laureates, as well as our exhibition and art books—plus refreshments. Register here:

Thanks to Jessica Thomas for sharing this pic with us of Joan in Quebec!!

It is one of five reproductions of a work originally commissioned by New York City and standing in Riverside Park since 1915. Other replicas are found in Blois, France, Gloucester, Massachusetts and San Francisco, California.

The unveiling of the statue in 1938 caused somewhat of a stir, as a statue dedicated to a saint celebrated for liberating France from the English could hardly play a part in a celebration of good relations between English and French Canadians.

However, whatever offence might have arisen from the presence of Joan of Arc in the Battlefields Park was mitigated by the dedication on the monument:

A tribute to the patriotism and courage of the heroes of 1759-1760.
