REFLECTIONS
I remember when our founding producer, Micheal Anderson, gave me the address to meet him for our shoot in Hollywood, Florida.
I arrived at this remarkable home. I thought to myself, “Wow, this is a really, really nice place. I wonder who lives here?”
It was immaculately kept from top to bottom, where beautiful art pieces were on display all around and natural light flooded the interior. As we began to set up for the interview, Michael motioned me over. Coming around the corner was Richard Quaddrici just arriving back from errands and checking the status of how things were going. He graciously welcomed me into his home, letting me know that we had complete creative freedom and we were able to use the space as we deemed fit.
We set our intentions with a prayer, and then we went on to shoot our first feature length interview for the documentary for the Hero of a Thousand Faces series. We wrapped filming that evening in Richard’s kitchen. As a part of the shoot, Chef Richard Ingraham, cooked a Richard Ingraham world-class meal (if you know, you know!) spilling over with all types of seafood and delectable goodness.
All of us, Mike, Pam, Gabe Soyka, Fabian, my wife Yolanda, Chef and Richard Quaddricci sat and ate one of the most memorable meals I’ve ever had.
That documentary would later go on to earn the project its first Suncoast Emmy - Hero of a Thousand Faces featuring Chef Richard Ingraham in the Long-Form Editor category.
It was Richard Quaddrici and his non-profit, The Windover Foundation that gave the project its first major contribution that triggered all of those downstream events.
Richard would continue to be a strong supporter of the Hero of a Thousand Faces project for years to come. We would not be where we are today if not for his faith, confidence and contribution to the mission of the project.
We are saddened by the passing of Richard Quadricci, not just as a supporter but truly as a friend. However, when I think about who Richard Quaddrici was to me, to us at the Hero project, I think of my impression of his home. He was immaculate from top-to-bottom and a wonderful work of art that shed light all around. After some reflection, it’s clear where the inspiration for his home came from - his heart.
