At our Nicki Keszler Hub in Kuwadzana, seven bootcamp students have secured employment and internships months before graduation.

This is what we hope for every single cohort: students stepping into the real world, applying what they've learnt, and proving that the skills built inside our hubs translate directly into opportunity outside of them.

Every offer is a step toward something bigger: making Zimbabwe the tech capital of Africa.

Congratulations!

If you've visited an Uncommon Innovation Hub before, you know our spaces are not ordinary. Every hub is designed to inspire. To make a young person walk through the door and immediately feel like they belong somewhere worth showing up for.

The Sally Foundation Innovation Hub, our second hub in Bulawayo, is no different. We partner with local artists to bring each hub to life. The murals, the colours, the feel of the space, all of it is intentional. Because we believe the environment you learn in shapes the person you become.

This hub will serve young adults from the community who are ready to spend 12 months learning design, software development, and digital marketing. It will also open its doors to the kids, with free after-school coding classes taught by the very bootcamp students going through the program.

Bulawayo already has one Uncommon hub changing lives. This one will multiply our reach.

We are counting down to completion. Stay tuned!

just gave 311 of our students and educators 12 months of free premium access.

That is $59,712 worth of world-class design tools, going directly into the hands of young people in Zimbabwe who are building the future of tech on this continent.

This kind of support changes what is possible in our hubs. And it is a powerful reminder of what happens when global companies choose to invest in the next generation of African talent.

Thank you, Figma.

Happy International Girls in ICT!

Today is about the young women sitting in our Innovation Hubs right now, learning to code, design, and build. Showing up every single day, doing the work, and proving that the tech industry has always had a place for them.

They did not come in with all the answers. They came in with curiosity and a willingness to figure it out.

That is all it takes.

This past week, we opened our doors to the Gwayi community. We watched with pride as parents, young people, and local leaders walked through our new hub, engaging with our tech programs and asking insightful questions. We were honored to have Ward Councillor Sibanda and Village Headman Mr. Ncube standing with us, their presence is a powerful testament to the shared vision we are building together.

Over the following two days, our conversations focused the transformative opportunities tech can bring to communities like Gwayi. The response was immediate: over 30 young people signed up on the spot. Most inspiring was the high turnout of young women; ready, eager, and asking exactly the right questions.

What struck us most wasn't just the numbers but the energy. There is a palpable sense of curiosity and a feeling that something is shifting in Gwayi.

This is only the beginning. Next week, we'll be back on the ground to follow up, listen, and partner with local leaders to ensure no one is left behind.

Because when a community shows up for itself, our job is to show up even harder.

One of our key programs is the After-School Youth Coding program, where our bootcamp students take time to teach primary school students the basics of coding through games. It’s such a pleasure to see the excitement every time we teach.
