The Bureau of Alcohol, To***co, Fi****ms and Explosives (ATF) is a strong federal partner of the FBI. Right here in Western New York, the ATF is expanding its use of technology within its Crime Gun Intelligence (CGI) program to compare digital scans of guns and cartridge casings found at crime scenes across the country to help law enforcement identify links between shootings and other firearms-related cases in different jurisdictions.

𝗙𝗕𝗜 𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡: PREVENTING TOMORROW'S HACKERS TODAY | Many cyber professionals were curious, tech-savvy kids who enjoyed tinkering on their computers. Unfortunately, the same can be said for many cyber criminals. During this presentation, members of the FBI Buffalo Cyber Task Force will discuss what they're seeing when they dig into the past of current offenders, share insight into some of their tactics, and highlight why keeping our youth out of the dark corners of the internet today can help prevent crimes tomorrow.

This program will provide awareness to InfraGard members and select private sector partners about the potential uses of common industrial and household chemicals in the manufacturing of explosives.

𝗙𝗕𝗜 𝗕𝘂𝗳𝗳𝗮𝗹𝗼’𝘀 𝗕𝗼𝗺𝗯 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝘀 will discuss explosive precursor chemicals, the manufacturing of improvised explosives, oversight and tripwire programs, and why it’s important to equip our private sector partners with this information, particularly if they work with chemicals in a commercial or academic setting.

The counterintelligence and economic espionage efforts emanating from the government of China and the Chinese Communist Party are a grave threat to the economic well-being and democratic values of the United States.

Confronting this threat is the FBI’s top counterintelligence priority. To be clear, the adversary is not the Chinese people or people of Chinese descent or heritage. The threat comes from the programs and policies pursued by an authoritarian government. The Chinese government is employing tactics that seek to influence lawmakers and public opinion to achieve policies that are more favorable to China.

At the same time, the Chinese government is seeking to become the world’s greatest superpower through predatory lending and business practices, systematic theft of intellectual property, and brazen cyber intrusions.

China’s efforts target businesses, academic institutions, researchers, lawmakers, and the general public and will require a whole-of-society response. The government and the private sector must commit to working together to better understand and counter the threat.

The counterintelligence and economic espionage efforts emanating from the government of China and the Chinese Communist Party are a grave threat to the economic well-being and democratic values of the United States.

Confronting this threat is the FBI’s top counterintelligence priority. To be clear, the adversary is not the Chinese people or people of Chinese descent or heritage. The threat comes from the programs and policies pursued by an authoritarian government. The Chinese government is employing tactics that seek to influence lawmakers and public opinion to achieve policies that are more favorable to China.

At the same time, the Chinese government is seeking to become the world’s greatest superpower through predatory lending and business practices, systematic theft of intellectual property, and brazen cyber intrusions.

China’s efforts target businesses, academic institutions, researchers, lawmakers, and the general public and will require a whole-of-society response. The government and the private sector must commit to working together to better understand and counter the threat.
