Free Caregiver Training in Manistique: Tuesday, Nov. 10
Do you help a parent, spouse, grandparent, or neighbor with meals, medications, getting around, or appointments? Then you’re a caregiver, even if you’ve never called yourself one. Many family caregivers don’t see themselves that way, but the care you give matters, and so do you.
Already working as a direct care worker? This is a chance to sharpen your skills in dementia care, safe transfers, and personal care, and to connect with others who do this work every day.
Thinking about a career in caregiving? Spend a day learning new skills alongside experienced caregivers and trainers, and find out whether direct care is the right path for you.
Join us for a day of stories and learning, hosted by The Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, the Caregiver Incentive Project and Impart Alliance at Michigan State University. Everyone is welcome, new or experienced.
📅 Tuesday, Nov. 10, 9 AM to 3:30 PM
📍 Manistique Tribal Health Center, 5698 US-2 W, Manistique
Coffee, pastries, and lunch are provided, and every attendee goes home with a gait belt. Come for the full day or just the sessions that matter most to you.
