Just when you think working in the garden couldn't get any sweeter🍠💕

Sweet potato harvests are in full swing across our Farms. Check out our Veterans Urban Farm volunteers in action- digging for sweet potatoes like it's a treasure hunt, because to us it is!

Now that you are thinking about sweet potatoes and getting hungry, make sure to save the date for our FREE Veterans Day Lunch on Tuesday, November 10th from 12pm-3pm. The event will take place at our Veterans Farm located at 1207 Smith Street and will be catered by Big Daddy's BBQ 😋 YUM!

Join CCUA for a FREE pumpkin composting event that is sure to be a smash hit! Don’t let your post-Halloween pumpkins rot on your front porch! Come smash them with us🎃🔨

CCUA will be in the grassy area next to the ARC (located at 1769 W Ash street) during Columbia Farmers Market from 9am to 12pm with baseball bats, catapults, and other pumpkin smashing tools. Bring your own pumpkin or just come and smash!

We’ll be to your left if you enter the Park at the northeast entrance from Clinkscales!

When you're an urban farmer you never know what you are gonna find in the soil...

Adding to our "Found in the Garden" series, this week we dug up some reminders:

😁 "Don't forget your smile!" when you enter the garden

🍠 "Food is Medicine” Our sweet potatoes took this quite literally- growing through an old apothecary bottle!

🐒 And last but not least, the garden is for monkeying around

What has your garden taught you?

Meals on Wheels Columbia, Mo has officially served over 10,000 meals to our community since beginning operation out of the Community Welcome Center this summer🥳

We are so excited to be part of this partnership! Since operation began, CCUA has donated over 400lbs of fresh, intentionally grown produce to these meals, but these meals don't just serve themselves!

CCUA is looking for individuals to volunteer in our new Community Welcome Center Kitchen working with Chef Beth from Thompson Tables to prepare meals.
