What a way to celebrate 10 Years with the community! We set an all time FFN record at this weekend's Red Bag food collection event. More than 38,000 pounds of food were collected, sorted and distributed to local schools.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING DAY! Today's record was an 18% increase over the September food collection. 🙌🏻

🚗 More than 190 drivers (with their helpers) picked up bags from 2,300+ households.
❤️ More than 850 volunteers spent their morning at our 10 sorting sites across Northern Virginia sorting food.
❤️ Countless volunteers work behind the scenes preparing for the day's event.
🍎 Volunteers distributed food to school pantries at 60 middle and high schools.
🚌 Saturday's tremendous effort will support more than 12,000 teens throughout Fairfax, Loudoun, and Arlington counties, and The City of Falls Church.

One Saturday morning makes a difference! Thank you!

FUN FACT: If we can continue to meet or beat today's record food collection, we can reach another HUGE milestone...1,000,000 pounds of food. Please share about our Red Bag Program with everyone you know and help us reach more students with more food in 2027!

It's Red Bag Day, October 24!

If your bag is sitting by your front door right now, know this: by this afternoon, what you packed will be in school pantries across Northern Virginia ready for students who need it. Same day. Every time.

If for any reason your bag hasn't been picked up by 10:30 AM or you forgot to leave it out, no worries! Just visit this link for next steps: foodforneighbors.org/faq

This community never stops showing up. Thank you for being part of it. ❤️

Tomorrow is Red Bag Day. ⏰

By this time tomorrow, the bags you packed will already be on their way to schools across Northern Virginia. Here's how the magic happens:
🕗 Leave your filled Red Bag by your front door by 8:30am
🚗 Your driver swings by, picks it up, and leaves a fresh bag for next time
📦 Our volunteers sort every donation the same morning
🏫 Food arrives at local schools the same day

Same day. That's how fast your generosity turns into a meal for a student who needs it. ❤️

See you tomorrow, and thank you for being part of this.

Don’t forget—we’ll be picking up your filled Red Bag this Saturday, October 24!

🕣 Please have it by your front door before 8:30 AM in a highly visible spot so our drivers can easily find it.

💧 If rain is in the forecast, place your Red Bag inside a plastic bag to keep everything dry.

📦 Have a large donation that might take up extra space in our driver’s vehicle? Please give us a heads-up through our website!

Thank you for your amazing generosity. You’re making a difference in your community! ❤️

If your Red Bag donation has outgrown your Red Bag...WOW and thank you! Your generosity is amazing. ❤️

Please place any extra items in a separate grocery bag labeled “FFN PICK-UP” and set it next to your Red Bag so our volunteers can grab everything.

🚗 Our drivers pick up 15–20 donations, so if you have a very large donation that might take up a lot of space in their vehicle, please give us a heads-up via our website.

We’re so grateful for your support—it truly makes a difference! 🙌

Many local families with teens are facing tighter grocery budgets this fall, and our school pantries are feeling it. Some are running low on food before we can restock them.

This Red Bag Day, Saturday, October 24, we're asking: if you're able, would you fill an extra Red Bag? ❤️ That second bag goes straight to a local middle or high school the very same day, helping stock pantries for the more than 12,000 teens who count on them.

Every bag makes a difference, and we're so grateful to partner with you in this work. If you can leave an extra bag, please use any grocery bag and clearly mark it for "FFN Pickup."

Hunger Is Closer Than You Think.

This Thanksgiving, let’s make room for joy, not hunger. Your donation provides grocery gift cards so families can celebrate with the foods they love.
