Rethink Church Recap:
Discussion Topic: What is the kingdom of God?
Focus Verse: Matthew 6:33
Observations:
In this section of scripture, Jesus is addressing his followers (the Church) about not letting fear, worry, and/or anxiety rule in their hearts, but rather to "seek first the kingdom of God...".
Take Away:
The Kingdom of God is where Jesus Christ reigns as King, Lord, and Savior and God’s authority is absolute. This Kingdom exists here and now in the lives and hearts of the redeemed, as well as in perfection and fullness in the future.
A little way to help remember what the Kingdom of God is:
- Authority of God (His Will, His Word, His Ways)
- Available only through accepting Jesus as King, Lord, and Savior
- Activated by the power of The Holy Spirit
- Acted on by the redeemed and/or the remnant
Practical Ways to "seek" the kingdom of God:
Come into agreement with God's plan, Pray, read the Bible, live in the peace of God/trust God, Worship, meet together with other Christians, be obedient as the Holy Spirit leads, love God and serve others.
Please feel free to share additional insights/wisdom you may have. God bless!
