Meet Homaed Ishaque Moon Homaed Ishaque Moon
Photographer | Travel Writer | Visual Storyteller
Refugee Empowerment Network (REN) is proud to introduce Homaed Ishaque Moon, a passionate photographer from Dhaka, Bangladesh, whose work reflects the profound connection between art, humanity, and storytelling. Known to friends and colleagues simply as Moon, he believes that photography is not merely a profession—it is a powerful form of artistic expression.
During his work with Relief International in the Rohingya refugee camps in 2017 and 2018, Moon documented the lives of refugee children and families who sought shelter in Bangladesh. His photographs captured moments of resilience, hope, innocence, and dignity amid one of the world’s largest humanitarian crises. Several of his photographs were featured by a German online media platform, bringing international attention to the stories of Rohingya refugees.
Beyond humanitarian photography, Moon is an accomplished travel photographer and travelogue writer, whose work has been published in leading daily newspapers and magazines. His travels across many countries have enriched his perspective and strengthened his commitment to documenting the human experience through his lens.
At REN, we celebrate Homaed Ishaque Moon’s dedication to preserving stories that matter. His images remind us that behind every crisis are individuals, especially children, whose dreams, creativity, and resilience deserve to be seen and remembered.
A photograph can preserve a moment, but it can also preserve humanity.
We are honored to feature Homaed Ishaque Moon, whose powerful photography from the Rohingya refugee camps (2017–2018) continues to inspire compassion, awareness, and hope. Through his lens, the voices of refugee children and families reached audiences far beyond the camps, reminding the world that every life has a story worth telling.
