It's official, TrashGoblins has been invited back to C2E2!
Also, some of you may have heard about showrunner ReedPop's parent company having ties to ICE/selling information. C2E2 works independently of their influence "at an arms length basis". We have correspondence from ReedPop's event vice president that showcases their dedication to safe spaces and independence from their parent company's ideals(screenshot of that email in comments).
To be extremely clear, TrashGoblins is VEHEMENTLY against ICE and everything they stand for, and we will NOT involve ourselves with any events that allow their influence. Trashgoblins has been dedicated to safe space and inclusion since our inception, working alongside charities across all spectrums to ensure marginalized folks get the respect and love they deserve - our message is that of safe community, and we align with other orgs that value the same, to the extent that we HAVE in the past refused to work with people who showed they did not value the ideals we do.
We at TrashGoblins have been met with nothing short of open arms and kindness from C2E2 staff, who embrace our ethos of providing a safe, fun, creative space for guests, and they have graciously allowed us bigger and bigger booth over the years to help us bring that vibe. Whatever the corporate intentions of their parent company, we have an opportunity to step out on the ground floor and further the message of safety and tolerance and expression, and C2E2 is a great place for us to showcase that - we hope y'all continue to support us and them, and we will do the same for you!
Rest assured, if their message changes or ends up being not genuine, TrashGoblins will take action to remove ourselves from the proceedings. We love you guys, we will do what we can to make sure the people who come to our booth feel like they belong, and we are very thankful to you, and to ReedPop for donating their space for us. 🧡💜🧡💜
