The Do-ers

We are “Do-ing” things a little bit differently this year. Given how everyone is pretty stretched thin across the board, I am gauging number of people interested in sponsoring families first before gathering families who are in need.

While we would love to help everyone, we have to be realistic to where we are vs. where we want to be and I would rather keep it small than not do anything at all.

That said - if you don’t know already, we have a group of people who help families in need with Christmas dinner/food items and some help with gifts (if it falls within the budget).

If that is something you’d like to participate in, whether it’s you and friends, you and family, you and coworkers - let me know and I will get you added to our The Do-ers group for more info.

As 2021 comes to a close - some final numbers from this years project.

⭐️70 families requested help
⭐️100% of requested families received help
⭐️39 Do-ers fully sponsored at least 1 family
⭐️3 businesses fully sponsored a total of 12 families
⭐️over $1500 in monetary donations were received, sponsoring 12 families.
⭐️Estimated total cost of 2021 Do-ers Project: $17,500

Hi friends! The Do-ers Project is sponsoring a total of 40 kiddos with their back to school supplies for 2021!

We have a ton of donations already! Comfort and Encourage Project just dropped off a box full of crayons, glue sticks, pens, pencils and paper, as well as 4 gently used backpacks.

We also have sponsors and a total of almost $800 donations with more coming in.

Our Sponsors are taking on 14 kids, which means we are sponsoring 26! That means we need close to $1,500 in donations to cover all costs.

If you are IN Texas - they need volunteers. But you will need to organize your own efforts and contact them to deliver the items you have collected. Jaquita Wilson has been sharing updates and information on her page as they move from city to city trying to get things in the hands of the people who are in need in those communities.

If you are outside of Texas - they need money to get the items and things they don't receive or receive enough of. This is the place to donate monetarily.

If you can't do either thing - SHARE this. That is getting the word out and when we network, it touches eyes and wallets of those who normally would not see it.

We are Central Texans, helping Central Texans. Warriors without Barriers. Our focus will be on providing for immediate and mid-term food and supply needs in the wake of the devastation of the catastrophic Texas Winter Storm. As our 2020 Do•ers season comes to a close, we wanted to share some of the gratitude that our Do•ers have received from their families post delivery.

This year has been tough for all of us in one way or another. Our hope is that this project re-kindled a fire within you and reminded you of what community is all about.
