Community members, please be aware and avoid going into the backside of Catfish Bay Area. This area is where we first captured multiple mountain lions on trail camera.
Because of recent sightings near Havasu Landing and around the Chemehuevi Agricultural areas. The mountain lions are very active right now. We believe the backside of Catfish Bay area is a main home for the mountain lions. Mountain Lions are more active from dusk to dawn.
The majority of the time they avoid humans.
Always make your presence known when you see one or are in an area you know mountain lions dwell. Stay safe and always be cautious.

These guys were on Conkie Hover's door step most of the day. Two cubs mountain lions. Be cautious and please do not feed them. They do look extremely malnourished. We believe they got away from the pack, mother, and are on their own now. We are in contact with a California Wildlife Biologist who specializes in mountain lions. To hopefully get someone here Tuesday from the Blythe California Department of Fish & Wildlife (CDFW) on Tuesday.

-Tomorrow August 8th 2025 our Chemehuevi
Environmental Department will be doing a controlled burn

-The burn will be held approx. 500 yards east of the Chemehuevi Water Department

-The burn will start at approx. 4:30am and burn until approx. 12:00pm

-Safety is always our number one priority please do not attempt to approach the fire or any of our employees
