“AI could cure cancer, could cure Alzheimer’s, could cure climate change, could fix the national debt, could could could could could could could….”

How about it cures pediatric cancer first, or some other major societal benefit breakthrough…then we can reconvene on the importance of hyperscale data centers.

AI slop isn’t a good reason, nor are hypotheticals from tech bros, nor is 24/7 1080p+ video storage a good reason

Hyperscale data centers aren’t just heavily subsidized by taxpayers (who take on the risk), their infrastructure is also contributing to heavy inflation everyone is seeing at the store shelves due to their additional impact on supply chain capacity.

Little known fact.

So they pollute your resources, your sky, devalue your community, increase your utility rates, increase your cost at the store.

What a deal!!!

Imagine being a city council member and voting in favor of a hyperscale data center.

The AI Bubble is teetering on collapse, don’t let your community be the one left holding the bag because your city councils were targeted by developer sales reps (bad ones) due to being easy marks.

If the council members who were sold had self awareness, they’d be embarrassed they were chosen…

Not wanting a hyperscale data center near your home doesn’t make you a NIMBY, it makes you a logical human being with a functioning brain.

Nobody wants to live next to oil refineries, petro chemical plants, waste incinerators, coal power plants, chemical mfg’s, concentrated feed plants, etc, either.

It’s so important, the most elite communities in the world make sure all of these types of facilities are banned from their municipalities (Atherton, CA).

Don’t let them off the hook, keep fighting.

With stakes this high, we can not afford to sit this election out neighbors. The city and business leaders want us to gamble with our safety but our air, water, land and the future of our community are too important. We need real jobs, and the truth is AI data centers won't provide them. Tell the city, the chamber, RDA and Main Street to do their job and get back to work on bringing true opportunities to Emporia. LET YOUR VOICES BE HEARD AND VOTE YES ON QUESTION 2 AND 3 THIS NOVEMBER 3RD!
