Rents are up and evictions are on the rise, but San Francisco tenants have been here before. We know how to fight and how to win, and we are ready to show the speculators that we are here to stay! Join tenants from across San Francisco for a citywide tenant assembly on August 15th, where we will meet neighbors, build our fightback plan, and hear from people who have successfully organized to stop evictions, lower the rent, and win essential repairs.

Tenant Union TIME ⏰⏰⏰

Rent is the most it’s ever been but the lowest it ever will be if we don’t collectively come together and organize our neighbors NOW 🤍

Our communities will never see any of the government subidized AI boom in San Francisco !! We are actually paying it with higher rents, increased surveillance and higher cost of living!!

Butttt it’s time to to our power back!! They are not housing providers they’re leeches. They need us to pay rent to fund their fake jobs and that’s our power 🩷 collectively we have sooo much more power 🏡 we create our world

Here’s some information 😜😜😜 also come to our next general meeting July 30th at St, James Church for movie night on historical analysis of housing in SF😌

Comrade Movie night 🎥🎬 on July 30th at 6:30pm 🤍 at 4620 California St off the 1 🚍🚍 come bring a snack and a friend. 🤝

Redevelopment: A Marxist Analysis is the result of a three year collaboration [1971-1974] between the Resolution film group and a number of community groups struggling to save their home and neighborhoods from “urban renewal”. In San Francisco, as in most other cities, “urban renewal” means destroying minority and working class neighborhoods and building lucrative luxury developments. As usual, the key government people have been bought and paid for by the big developers 😔😔😔

I - Hotel Panel outtakes 🎞️

Thank you Pam, Lucy, Calvin (Robbie) and Steve 💕 for sharing their part in organizing / resistance of August 4, 1977 eviction of the I- Hotel in Manilatown. 3,000 people showed up to resist the hundreds of SFPD riot police who brutally evicted 150 Filipino and Chinese elders.

This horrific eviction lead to the further manhattanization and big real estate takeover. So much to learn from the history of tenant resistance in SF and we are so grateful to learn from y’all 🔥

Thank you for the photos 💜

Stay tuned for videos from the speakers 🩷

"[Jackie] Barshak may have defeated the eviction, but further fights have developed. Her landlords are now trying to get a restraining order against her due to union activities. The trial is scheduled for May 19th — and she has begun collecting donations for legal fees. But the emphasis on her organizing is critical — for all tenant elders, the freedom to fight cannot be taken away."

And the tenants are winning.

Inspiring story on how tenants in four federally-backed buildings in Kentucky overcame intense retaliation and won a new contract from their out-of-state landlord!
