NAWGJ Press Release

3/26/26

NAWGJ is aware of comments made in a recent podcast interview concerning collegiate women’s gymnastics judging and judging more broadly.

While NAWGJ does not typically respond to individual commentary, we are doing so here because the interview included repeated assertions about judging, qualifications, testing, accountability, meet referees, and administration that were inaccurate, unsupported, and harmful to the judging community.

The comments were not authorized by NAWGJ, did not comply with the NAWGJ Media Policy, and were made in an individual capacity. They do not represent NAWGJ, its leadership, members, or the NCAA, and should not be relied upon as authoritative.

Official interpretations, policies, and procedures are communicated only through authorized NAWGJ channels.

This matter is being addressed through NAWGJ’s established Disciplinary Procedures. Consistent with that process, NAWGJ will not comment further.

NAWGJ remains committed to professionalism, the integrity of judging, and responsible service to the sport.
