Looking for an immediate foster placement for the kitties formerly known as Tony and Carmela, now Lily and Ren.
Sadly their adopters are requesting they be rehomed IMMEDIATELY. I am finding it hard to find the words to even share how disappointing as a rescuer it is to feel like you failed on placing kittens that were in your care. Suffice it to say I am more than heartbroken and also super angry about this whole situation. Additionally, the rescue took a $660 hit to the account yesterday because the adopters had not updated vaccines nor had they discussed behavioral concerns with a vet that arose after they brought home their newborn baby. I was told on Wednesday that if I didn’t take them immediately they would be going to the shelter this weekend. They were unwilling to take them to the vet, so I paid for an in home vet visit because right now my only option for immediately housing these two is placement with a partner rescue in a pet store. In order for that to occur they have to have UTD vaccinations. Given the amount of time I have been given to place the cats, while not ideal it is far better than the likely euthanasia they will face at the shelter as owner surrenders. Yesterday Lily was found to have a UTI during her in home vet visit likely due to stress, has ulcerations on her lady bits during the vet visit and as a result she also got a shot of convenia.
HUGE SHOUTOUT TO DoRe Rescue and Thom Dougherty for offering up one of their kennels at Pet Sense as an immediate option to save these two from
the shelter.
So, please share Ren and Lilly so we can find a foster home where all food, toy, litter and litter boxes as well as cat trees will be provided. Their personality bios are below.
Meet Lily 🐾
Lily is an affectionate and playful young female cat with a sweet independent streak. She and her brother Ren share a close bond and spend a lot of their time together playing, exploring, and relaxing nearby one another. Because of their connection, they would do best in a home together.
Lily enjoys having her own space and can often be found relaxing at the top of a cat tree, quietly observing everything around her. She has a calm and thoughtful personality, but when she decides she wants attention, she fully commits. She loves climbing right onto your chest, getting close to your face, and demanding affection and cuddles on her own terms. She is very expressive and good at letting you know when she wants love and when she prefers a little personal space.
Although she has a slightly more relaxed and “lazy” play style than her brother, Lily absolutely enjoys playing, especially when Ren gets involved first. Once she sees him having fun, she quickly joins in. Her favorite toys include springs, wand toys, and cat trees where she can lounge, climb, and watch the world around her. She often plays while stretched out comfortably on her side, making her playful personality especially entertaining to watch.
Lily is also very food motivated and is always excited for mealtime. She would thrive in a loving home that appreciates both her independent nature and her affectionate moments. Together, Lily and Ren make a wonderful pair with a great balance of playful energy, companionship, and personality.
Meet Ren 🐾
Ren is an almost two year old male cat with a gentle, affectionate personality and a playful spirit. He loves being around people and quickly becomes a loyal companion once he feels comfortable. One of his most unique traits is that he will happily sit on your shoulder while you walk around the house, almost like a little parrot cat.
Ren has a lot of personality and charm. He even plays fetch with toy springs, which always surprises people and shows off his intelligent, dog-like behavior. He is very active and enjoys climbing cat trees, chasing toys, and playing with his sister, Lily. His favorite toys include springs, balls, wand toys, strings, and just about anything that lets him burn off energy and have fun.
He also has a sweet and loving side. Ren enjoys cuddling at night and likes being close to his people, whether that means curling up by your feet or snuggling beside you in bed. He loves watching the world outside from his cat tree by the window, especially keeping an eye on birds and the driveway. He always seems to know when his people are coming home and will patiently wait by the window for them.
Ren would do best in a home that can give him attention, playtime, and affection. He has a wonderful balance of playful energy and gentle companionship, making him a truly special cat.
