Established in 2025, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐋𝐚𝐛 is FACTS’ vocational model that gives graduating students from the 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐎𝐅𝐅 program the opportunity to create high-quality, mission driven content for brands, organizations and events.

ProLab successfully wrapped a project for a major client, an achievement that reflects not only the internal quality of the work being produced, but also the strength of a hybrid model that aligns education with real-world production. This approach is not only driving results, but shaping the future of industry best practices.

We would like to congratulate our board member, for continuing to lead the path through her work as a lead producer on an exciting new international project. We’re proud to see her bring together standout talent from Cape Town, London, and Lima, creating a globally connected cast that blends culture, perspective, and personality on her upcoming project, “Boyz Trip”.

This comedy reflects the power of collaboration across borders, delivering heart, humor, and authenticity while reminding us that laughter is a universal language. We look forward to seeing this project come to life and celebrating the impact it will have with audiences around the world.

The Central Pennsylvania Film Commission secured the inside front cover of the AFCI Global Incentive Guide—one of the most visible placements in front of studio executives and producers actively scouting where to film.

This isn’t just exposure—it’s positioning.

At the moment decision-makers are evaluating locations, Central PA is being introduced as a competitive alternative within Pennsylvania’s film landscape—offering certified stages, added tax credit value, and a growing, trained workforce pipeline.

Omar Miller was also recognized for his contribution to our We’ll Make It Happen campaign and was a recipient of the 2025 Michael K. Williams Humanitarian Award for excellence in storytelling and a steadfast commitment to uplifting communities!

The vision continues through strategic partnerships with the x and a leading educational company.

The set was truly special, aligning talent, workforce development, and premier locations all rooted in Central Pennsylvania.

More than 20 high school students participated and received stipends, gaining hands-on experience in a real production environment.

Leading this ecosystem leadership is the Central Pa Film Commissioner, who also took time to speak directly with the students, delivering a message that was both inspiring and impactful for everyone in attendance.

Ryan Shank is an award-winning independent producer of film and branded content recognized for crafting visually compelling narratives that drive brand awareness, audience engagement, and measurable impact. His work spans collaborations with international and domestic musicians, artists, CEOs, and Fortune 500 brands across consumer goods, entertainment, healthcare, and higher education — blending cinematic storytelling with strategic marketing insight.

As Founder and Executive Director of the Red Rose Film Festival, Ryan has helped establish one of Central Pennsylvania’s premier platforms for independent cinema. Under his leadership, the festival has become a catalyst for regional creative growth — connecting filmmakers, industry professionals, and audiences while contributing to the strengthening of the local creative economy.

Through both commercial production and festival leadership, Ryan continues to champion independent storytelling and position Central Pennsylvania as a viable and thriving creative hub.

Matthew DeRose is a Central Pennsylvania filmmaker and creative advocate committed to expanding opportunity within the regional film community. He has acted in and produced independent film projects and has engaged with the broader industry through major events including the Emmy Awards and the Directors Guild of America Awards.

Deeply invested in York and the surrounding region, Matthew is actively building a collaborative film network in Central PA with the goal of attracting more productions and creating sustainable opportunities for talent both in front of and behind the camera.

A longtime supporter of FACTS, Matthew brings community leadership, regional influence, and a shared commitment to growing Central Pennsylvania as a viable creative hub.

Marcus “Rated Art” Bryant is a nationally recognized songwriter, producer, and creative leader with over a decade of industry experience. He has collaborated with artists including John Legend, H.E.R., and Ludacris, with music featured on American Idol, Black-ish, NBA Cares campaigns, and during the Democratic National Convention as President Obama’s campaign anthem.

Signed to Sony Music Publishing, Marcus is a Voting Member of the Recording Academy/GRAMMYs and formerly served as President of the Academy’s Philadelphia Chapter. A passionate advocate for arts education and equity, he holds leadership roles with Project 440 and is the founder of LOUD Series, a platform dedicated to inspiration and transformative cultural impact.

Dr. Garrett E.B. Thompson is an award-winning film and television producer with an MFA and Ph.D. from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, specializing in African American Cinema and Hip Hop Culture.

His producing credits span major platforms, including HBO Max, CBS, Disney, MTV, Paramount Network, and Hulu, with projects such as American Idol (Season 20), Beanie Mania, and the narrative feature STAY.

A Cannes-screened filmmaker and Director’s Guild of America Award recipient, Thompson was selected for Netflix’s 2025 Non-Fiction Producing Fellowship and leads innovative production work through Turnkey Studios.
