We recently placed this in the City of Port Orange, FL's Riverwalk Park! Located along the Halifax River, the park features playgrounds, a boardwalk & fishing pier, kayak/canoe launch, splash pad and a large common area.

This donation truly fulfills our mission, which is to place Public Access Defibrillators in community areas where people gather and children play.

It doesn't matter how an gets there, as long as it does.

What would you do if you witnessed a ? Do you know how to perform or operate an ?

When someone's heart stops, it's important to start chest compressions and apply an AED as quickly as possible.

This month, take note of locations near you. It doesn't take much to prepare yourself. A little effort now may save a life in the future.

The Student Docs for Shocks team participated in City of Suwanee, Georgia - City Hall's Suwanee Fest this past weekend. We took the opportunity to educate festival goers about the importance of community response to , including starting and quickly using an .

Many cardiac arrest victims don't receive treatment before EMS arrives, which often occurs outside the optimal 3-4 minute window for . AEDs are safe and easy to use, and medical training is not required to operate one.

Through our Public Acces AED donation program, Student Docs for Shocks provides the necessary tools (and education) community members need to improve survival.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth to learn about our cause and get hands on with CPR & AEDs.

A frightening scene turned into a fantastic outcome in Tampa, FL when a high school student suffered a at school. Luckily those who were trained to save did just that - with quick , a shock with an and notification of EMS.

Body cam footage captured amazing teamwork between a school resource deputy and school nurse. The breaths & grunts you hear the victim making are called agonal gasps. This breathing pattern make it seem as though the victim is responsive, but they are the body's unconscious response to an extremely low blood-oxygen level and a sign of cardiac arrest.

This event is another great example of the importance of .

It was a frantic few minutes for a Wharton High school resource deputy and nurse as they worked to save a student’s life last week. It was all captured on body cam video provided by the Hillsborough County Sheriffs Office.

A few additional words about the successful resuscitation of professional soccer player Christian Eriksen after his on-field sudden cardiac arrest this past weekend...

In no way was this situation different from a resuscitation attempt by non-medically trained civilians using a Public Access Defibrillator. Eriksen's teammates recognized there was a problem & quickly motioned for help. CPR was initiated and a shock delivered once indicated by the AED.

Textbook resuscitation with a great outcome because the necessary tools were available!
