Mike Erdman for Penn State Alumni Council
Statement:
One Team! What started as a way to express support for our athletic programs, it is just as appropriate for our Alumni Association. As the largest, most powerful alumni association in the world, by pulling together, we can accomplish anything! A proud member of a 4 generation Penn State family (more to come), I have been fortunate to have serve
d our university, as a corporate recruiter for GE and Lockheed Martin for over 20 years, on advisory boards, giving volunteer lectures on technical and leadership topics, and presiding over advisory and alumni groups such as the 92,000 member Penn State Engineering Alumni Society. But perhaps my most exciting involvement has been as a member of the Alumni Council for the past two years. I see great potential for sharing ideas and strengthening or creating new constituent organizations. I took the initiative to create such opportunities for the college-level societies within the council. I would like your support to extend this “sharing” experience among our chapters, interest groups, program groups, and societies. The combined intelligence and innovative nature of our 177,000 members and their representatives on our dedicated Alumni Council can extend our influence well beyond current boundaries. On the football field, outstanding defense has been our hallmark. With the strength of our Alumni Association, we can mount an overwhelming offense – let the roar be heard: WE ARE proud of our philanthropy, academics, students, faculty, staff, and alumni. Elect me to help create one voice for our one team!
** I appreciate your support of my candidacy. I also support the candidates listed below. They are qualified, dedicated alumni who have presided over alumni societies and have served with distinction on the Alumni Council in the recent past. In the challenging times of change that we face, their experience and commitment will help to continue our PSAA history of excellence. Please ask your network to join you in supporting proven candidates Dave Cavanaugh, Lynn Cruser, Todd Dietrich, Mike Erdman, Mark Poblete, and Tom Range. I also suggest consideration of Ned Brokloff who has served the University in many roles as a volunteer and donor.
