XTRA, XTRA, PR’S ABOUT… 💻

…Min Guenther!!! Whether it’s graphics or press releases, Min’s got it covered! If it’s happening, Min’s definitely designing, working closely with the secretary and media chair to make sure you’re up-to-date on all the what-to-do’s.

Q: Favorite PSFA memory?
A: Senior sendoffs? There’s probably photos of me crying behind the camera but it was honestly so sweet getting to send the seniors off with love for all they did for PSFA!!!

Q: What do you look forward to this year?
A: Definitely getting to meet new people and seeing our community come together for Barrio! Barrio season is a time of stress, love, and fun and I’m always down for some (albeit high-pressure) shenanigans.

Q: Why did you pick this position?
A: I’m always looking for ways to express myself creatively and graphic design is just one of the mediums I absolutely adore. I’ve been doing outreach for all kinds of organizations throughout my life and I’m excited to be able to give back to this family I’ve found here at PSFA!!!

❓More Q&A:

Q: What are your values, and what drives you to do what you do today?
A: Just be kind to everyone. You don’t know what everyone is going through and being kind, being nice is free. This drives me to be a better person and drives me to make my friends and family be proud of what I do and the person I am.

Q: How has PSFA shaped or influenced your life after graduating?
A: I’m still really close with a bunch of my friends in PSFA. Basically all of my roommates that I lived with for, like, 2 years, they were all in PSFA. We all just kind of try and stay as close as we can to each other. It also helps that I’m in Philly, so there’s a couple of friends from Pittsburgh that are still around the area, so I still hang out with them. A bunch of the friends I made in PSFA are still my friends and still are the motivation for why I do a lot of things.

Q: If you could recall, what made you go for the role you had in PSFA?
A: I really wanted to be involved in E-Board and my big was actually the president that year and he did ask me if I wanted to run and be as VP. By this point, I had plans to run for but wasn’t sure which role. I had worked most of the games so I was pretty well-versed in the role itself and it was difficult getting people to work the games, but a lot of people were more willing to work it if I was the one there so I was just like, okay, you know what, I’ll help out.

As the semester comes to an end, we celebrate the beginning of a new journey for all in our PSFam who are graduating this spring!

PSFA’s annual Senior Sendoff is always bittersweet but we cannot wait to see what our graduates do and we cannot be more proud of them for this incredible milestone.

❓More Q&A:

Q: How did you navigate through the difficulties or challenges as a cultural club in Penn State?
A: There were a lot of things like it was hard to get people to show up to practice or get enough people to volunteer for different events. There were a lot of challenges and as young people, we don’t really know how to do all of these things and a lot of profound lessons come up when you’re involved in something like Barrio and you figure it out with the support of everybody around you.

Q: What are your values, and what drives you to do what you do today?
A: “Authenticity is a big value of mine, I carry a lot of pride about being Pinay. When I was in high school, I started a Filipino-American organization and even in PSFA I got involved with PSFA from the very beginning. However it is that you identify, I think it’s important to be authentic to that. I’m also a big believer of empathy and I try to carry that forward. We don’t have enough empathy in this world, especially in these times where the world is so divided.”
